Seems pretty clear to me that the Codex Regius came into existence through some sort of Christian-Viking underground alliance, where booty from raided monestaries contributed to the initial libraries of the first monasteries on Iceland, and at some point pagan-Germanic poetry was pushed through the scriptorium of Þingeyraklaustur, and it seems clear to me that some of the initial library was of manuscripts stolen from the likes of Saint-Amand Abbey.

To this day nobody has actually translated the Ulfilas Bible into English. What they have done is put other Bible translations alongside it. We have yet to actually translate the Bible that was made specifically for a Germanic population, yet Christianity is the dominant religion in Western countries. That is insane, in my opinion.

Sooooooo yeah, IMO, any decent interlinear translation of Ulfilas' Bible will use the Gothic alphabet; It will not use a transliteration... because the Gothic Alphabet is beautiful; it was so far ahead of its time.

If I'm gonna read some propaganda I'm at least gonna read some with genuine Gothic history sprinkled into the mix... not the words of some retard that had a too-big tongue.

It's a terrible translation by the way, this one right here, that reads as if KJV was slapped against a questionable transliteration of Gothic. Horrible. Do not recommend.

I've wondered if such colors are an attempt to bring emotional colors into syntax. What I don't understand is how/if these methed-up Germans were still thinking this way. Pervitin usage was supposedly high amongst SS, and other drugs were used alongside as well... ...so how there are still adding such color to these letters... where tf is that inspiration coming from...

A long-ish thread on the Nazis gassing 86 Jewish prisoners to harvest their skeletons for a university's anatomy department. The guy who ran the anatomy department, August Hirt, wanted a collection, so he sent a request up the SS chain and it landed on Himmler's desk. 115 people were picked out for him at Auschwitz. Not all of them were put on the transport, three men died on the way, and 86 arrived at Natzweiler-Struthof alive. There they were gassed with hydrogen cyanide and shipped down to Hirt's institute in Strasbourg. Hirt was also running mustard gas experiments on prisoners at the same camp, to see what the burns did and how they might be treated. One of the special things about this insane, grotesque experiment is that we have the entire correspondence trail and the bodies. French troops reached the institute in November 1944 while the work was still half finished, and found 17 intact bodies and 69 torsos sitting in the tanks. As with all things Nazi, it started with a memo. In Feb 1942 Hirt sent the proposal below up through SS channels, asking to secure the skulls of Jewish-Bolshevik commissars for the collection. The plan was to kill them in the camps, ship the bodies to his institute in Strasbourg, strip the flesh off them there, and assemble the skeletons. (sourced from BArch NS 19/1582)

Despite years of rhetoric about boosting consumption, Beijing has shown little willingness to tackle the underlying demand problem. America is the mirror image. It has long been the world’s demand engine while allowing much of its industrial base to erode. Under Trump, it is trying to rebuild manufacturing, reduce its dependence on China, and restore its supply side. But breaking decades of reliance on foreign imports while overcoming America’s own institutional obstacles to building will be extraordinarily difficult. Geopolitically, this is becoming a race to see which country can fix its structural weakness first. Can America rebuild its industrial base and reduce its dependence on Chinese supply before it loses the strategic competition? Or can China keep the world dependent on Chinese supply long enough to sustain an economic model that increasingly relies on external demand? It is a race to see which country hits the wall first. If America hits the wall first, it may prolong the G2 contest only to lose it—ceding industrial power, strategic leverage and ultimately global leadership. If China hits the wall first, the consequences could be far more severe. The export engine that now underpins its economy would stall while domestic demand remains too weak to take its place. What follows may not simply be slower growth, but a systemic economic crisis. One side risks losing global leadership. The other risks the viability of its economic model. This is no ordinary trade conflict. It is a race of severe consequences.
