HPC fundamentals have always worked this way. It seems novel or counterintuitive only in the context of the last decade of hyper scale cloud vendors who had insane margins on compute because their customers were all I/O bound.

Jensen Huang says that Nvidia’s full AI infrastructure package (chip, networking, data centre) is so efficient that competitors can price their chips at $0 and Nvidia would still be the better option.

How do people in the suburbs genuinely look forward to Friday night on the couch, Saturday morning at Costco, and call that a weekend? Like you really moved out of the city just to LARP as your parents at 34?

@bonk_cs @kettanaito I’ve done that. Don’t have time to make all the tweaks to make it look right in all cases.

If you want to refresh your IDE/terminal, try the Google Sans Code font. It's free and really good. You're welcome.

some rich billionaire, can you please create an airline that will destroy every other airline? - charge fair straight forward premium prices - optimize for comfort, food, & premium experiences. - fuck the rewards, credit cards, & points. just clean beautiful experiences. maybe acquire few airlines to do it for gate access.

Microsoft has the perfect MacBook Neo competitor with the Surface Laptop 13 but it's just a little bit too expensive If they can get it down to $600, that's your Windows neo competitor. At $899/$999 you're getting to MacBook Air territory and the Air is simply better

Re: SaaS death - I actually know of two separate SaaS companies that had employees leave in the last two years to build competitors and in both cases the competitive products are now dead, with zero traction. And the people that left those companies were very, very smart. And the products they built were the same shape as the companies they left, and they used AI to build them. But they had absolutely 0 success.

@DancingEddie_ I'm a little over 40. After 35 (maybe 37) I couldn't really process alcohol. If I don't work out I start to feel really tired and bad after a week or two. If I'm working out and not drinking, I feel 30. If I'm doing the opposite, I feel 100.

It’s existential. It’s a full blown crises. Imagine waking up one day with a chronic illness, that’s how it happens. One day you’re enjoying your 40’s and literally the next day you’re in a cardiologist office telling you some serious shit and you cannot go back to your normal life. Oh and everything hurts. EVERYTHING.

A while back, Andrej Karpathy said the app store will be replaced by generated, disposable software," and Amjad Masad predicted that the value of all application software will go to zero I think this "ephemeral software hypothesis" is wrong, though, and I want to explain why:

100% of dev is going to be done in sandboxes in the cloud, controlled by kanban boards. Trust me, I love my local machine and gorgeous mac apps, but all of it is just a terrible form factor for running a team of agents effectively.

btw i am switching fully from openclaw to hermes agent, mainly because i dislike peter but also because hermes is ten thousand times better so far. i've met tons of very egoistical persons in my life but peter is like, highest level. all of his public interactions just feel like he think he's some kind of above-all humans and it piss me off. compare that to the people who maintain hermes agent and how close to the community they are. big difference.

oxfmt is 30x faster than prettier. most devs will stick with prettier because we're tired of switching tools every 3 months for nothing
