When Tim Keller spoke and referenced a dozen different authors that made him interesting. But his secret and experiential life with God made him spiritually electric. His intelligence made him compelling but his inner life was what made his sermons feel like a burning bush.

Our digital age has made us hyper connected, yet it has left us less capable than ever to truly bond; it has made us more isolated, yet it has also left us less and less capable of being truly alone.

Thank you @timkellernyc. The Lord has used you to shape my faith and ministry in more ways than I can say. May He give us the wisdom and courage to declare the beauty of the gospel in our fracturing world as you have done.

Pastor, Follow the church calendar. We Protestants (& Baptists!) have a right to this rich liturgy. Don’t know where to start? Begin this June w/ Trinity Sunday. Say the Nicene Creed together and preach the Trinity from the holy scriptures. What’s more important than orthodoxy?

A pastor can be calling out people in his congregation for being materialistic and worldly for elevating career above family and church, when he is doing essentially the same thing. It's just less obvious because in his life "church" IS "career". 4/

It should be blatantly obvious that a pastors first job is to be a good christian before teaching others to be one. This means pastors devote a lot of energy to reading their Bibles, praying, battling their sins, loving their families and neighbors. 1/
