Ureter with bladder cuff demonstrating a papillary urothelial carcinoma obstructing the distal ureter. Ureter was longer, I trimmed it for the picture. Margins negative. Always submit point of attachment to determine invasion. #grosspath #gupath

When grossing oral maxilla/mandible specimens, knowing the difference between soft tissue and mucosal margins is important. When in doubt, have the surgeon orient you. Also make sure to note bone involvement. Use teeth to help orient. #maxillectomy #pathology

Pheochromocytoma: well-circumscribed, pink-red, & medullary-based mass. 10% rule: familial, bilateral, children, malignant, & extradrenal. Note residual adrenal gland parenchyma along periphery. Also super cute 🥰🥰#grosspath

Normally we remove the teeth, section with Stryker saw, fix the section overnight, then use RDO for decal.

Such dense bone. Decalcification takes so long and holds up treatment and the surgeon gets a bit antsy. How do you decal the tissues?

Glioblastoma. The gray-white matter junction can be helpful in identifying these ill-defined tumors grossly. The junction is more “blurred” when involved by tumor in comparison to non-neoplastic tissue. Intratumoral hemorrhage is also a common finding. @E_Heidi_Cheek #surgpath
