Check out @E_Heidi_Cheek awesome example of a cholangio in a partial resection! Understanding the anatomy of the biliary tree is key!

The example below shows a structure with visible tumor invading into the hepatic parenchyma. Keep in mind not only the duct margins but the hepatic resection margin too! @WPathassist case = super complex and way cooler! @AAPAstudents @iplaywithorgans

Cholangiocarcinomas - especially perihilar and extrahepatic, can be complicated and intimidating. Know your anatomy and criteria for staging. Have a conversation with the surgeon and pathologist! Patient care = most important. @WPathassist #grosspath
