@USFBullsTboned He held the ball down by his hip for the past 3 years. NFL scouts would have been all over that. AG never corrected it & now he's having to change his motion to get the ball out of an area a d-lineman will easily swat that out in that conf.

To your ques to what point it does, is a different topic, but it cant exclude genetics. Your rejection seems political ie a rejection of the American hegemony.

@duchasach01 @PotatoWaffen88 @lukeming Youre proving my point. Ethnicity is genetically linked ie population genetics. An Irish person in 1870s Ireland was British, a legal classification. But most native Irish were genetically different. And on that population level we arent similar to the early humans

By the logic of claiming identity through ethnicity, you could make the argument we’re all Africans as that is where all humans originate.

@ifkate Youre looking at total years since they emigrated e.g. 1890-2026. But that "blood" isnt necessarily diluted if the descendant of that person was born in say 1950 (60 years) and they are making a claim of Irishness.

@duchasach01 @PotatoWaffen88 @lukeming Good question. American is a nationality which in itself is a social construct. 100 years from now, Canada could take over the US, and Americans would become Canadians. But they would stay ethnically (wherever their ancestors were from).

@OldNewYork1664 I am still trying to find an Irish-American who isn't also English, Scots, Welsh, etc. America has a bizarre ethnic identification problem - it has a great many people who are so obviously mixed ethnicity, and yet they assume they are one ethnicity. Irish-Americans the worst.

Most Americans who call themselves Irish aren’t talking about the same thing as the famine Irish of Boston and New York. A huge number are really Scots-Irish — English and Scottish border stock, Protestant frontier people whose ancestors came out of the borderlands, were planted in Ulster, then pushed into Appalachia, Tennessee, Kentucky and the South. Not Dublin. Not Cork. Not the tenements. A harder, older story of border clans, rifles, honour, feuds, distrust of authority and life on the edge of empire. The green beer version of Irish-American identity hides a lot. For millions, the real roots are English, Scottish, Ulster, frontier, Presbyterian, hill country and rebellion. Different people. Different history. Different temperament. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

@deanbhoy2 @Midge1415 Does the Irishman in Ireland with different political views than you make them less Irish? Irish Americans are more genetically Irish than they are "American." Nationality is a social construct, while ethnicity is not. Lived experience, or lack thereof, doesnt erase that.

I believe this is the interview referenced: m.youtube.com/watch?v=w_5697… I didn’t hear Golesh say he didn’t give USF his full attention. In his words, he felt guilt because he preached ‘blocking out the noise’ and he was the No. 1 reason why there was noise around the program.
