I think the world learned a lesson humility. First time we thought we could control a pandemic. Disastrous social and economic results.

Does anyone dispute these facts…in March of 2020 there was a nationwide panic that was based on an imperial college study that suggested that covid had a 3-4% fatality rate. Policy was crafted based on that study. By May everyone knew that those estimates were over stated by about 500x. The new information would have never caused a panic…but the ball was already rolling…what did I get wrong?

Restaurants have closed in record numbers (and hundreds of jobs lost!) since this ordinance was enacted. I haven’t spoken to one restaurant owner, especially smaller, independent ones, that support this. We need to help save Chicago’s independent restaurants & support our servers & support teams. Our hospitality industry is the backbone of our city.
