I don’t want to sound cynical. In fact, I’ve actually liked Asha’s attitude so far, and I’m happy to see XBOX apparently preparing for a comeback.
But so far, it’s mostly just been words and minor actions.
Where is the OFFICIAL announcement that XBOX will go back to having exclusives, at least among consoles, and cancel the ports that were announced for PS5?
Only after that will I start believing this is actually for real. Until then, I’m going to remain skeptical.
Because let’s be honest, XBOX spent practically this entire generation living off unfulfilled promises. They need to show more, much more.

@JBishie That assumes exclusives are still the main growth driver. The industry is shifting toward services, convenience, subscriptions, and accessibility over locked content.

A brand built on ecosystem value can’t survive if it’s the only one giving up its leverage. If the move is unilateral, you’re effectively subsidising your competitors’ ecosystems with your own content. They get the benefit of your catalogue without offering theirs in return, and that creates a one‑way transfer of value.
Other platforms gain more by not reciprocating, because your openness pushes players toward their hardware while they keep their own catalogue locked in. That’s asymmetrical competition in its purest form.

Most Xbox fans have gotten used to Xbox games being on PlayStation. It's been 2 years. It's only a few who want exclusives back, worrying that fewer people will want an Xbox console. As I see it, Xbox will make great profit by having games in as many places as possible. Those who want Xbox hardware will still get an Xbox. There is no need to reverse course after 2 years. Real Xbox fans are just fine with Xbox games on PlayStation. @asha_shar

@Coolkid1987 @JezCorden Helix appeal is access to Steam and other game stores. It brings a lot of access that you couldn’t get elsewhere. That’s assuming full PC access and not something like a PC handheld limited access.

@JezCorden Why would I buy an Xbox Helix if all of its games are on other platforms at possibly lower prices? I know Microsoft is trying to make the Xbox a small, compact PC, but I think doing that is a mistake. I think having no exclusives will hobble the Helix.

I reckon Xbox CEO Asha Sharma wants to give Xbox its exclusive games back — ... but these PlayStation comments reveal why Microsoft probably won't let her in the short term.
It's the year of GTA 6. The game has an exclusive PlayStation marketing deal. Call of Duty is also not launching on PS4 this year, giving PS4 holdouts a reason to upgrade ... so why is Sony warning investors of decreased sales this year?

@brentjackson77 @JezCorden I agree with you but Gears Reloaded sales data is a poor example. Anyone that owned the first remake on Xbox got Reloaded upgrade for free. Plus Gamepass. It’s a poor sample size.

@JezCorden lol so many false things in this article. Xbox isn’t selling because the chip market, they haven’t been system sellers in over a decade! Also if you look at the recent data, Gears Reloaded did very well for a remaster of a remaster on PS5. 60%+ of its sales came on PS5. Nice try!

Microsoft is working on a new system called Positron that could let Xbox players turn their physical game discs into digital copies. The idea is simple: you put the disc in your console or drive, the system checks that you own the game, and then it adds a digital version to your Xbox account. Once converted, the game would work with cloud gaming, play on many devices, and fit better with new hardware, while the physical disc would likely stop working afterward to stop people from sharing or selling the same copy. We do not know which games would work, if it costs money, or when it might launch, and Microsoft has not confirmed it, so this is still just a rumor.

This umpire confronted some parents that just wouldn’t stop.
He told them to be quiet or he was going to make their team forfeit.
They kept on going so….. he called “ballgame!”
The heckling parents asked him if he felt better and he said “I feel fine, you feel okay?….the game is for your kid……you wanna argue balls and strikes in a little league game? Come on!”
Then one of the parents says “and this guy’s a firefighter who protects your neighborhood!” 😳
Some people feel that maybe that guy’s Captain at the Fire Station needs to know how he’s acting out in public. Others said he should be banned all season. 💯
I can’t stand parents who act like that. I bet those kids were upset they didn’t get to play. The coach of that team should have intervened and got rid of that parent. Now his players paid the price for some “adult” who couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
What would you do? Would you call his work and tell them what he did and how he’s acting? Should he be banned from the park for the rest of the season? How do you think his own kid felt?

This happened during the Cubs vs Rangers game. A grounder to first and the first baseman throws home to get the out at home plate. Catcher applies the tag, the runner is called safe. Replay clearly shows the runner is out. The Cubs challenge the call and are confident it is going to be overturned. After replay, the runner is called safe! 🤯 How can the replay booth who has every angle in the book at their disposal (not that you needed more than one) botch this call after the umpire just botched it? Do people lose their jobs over this? Have you seen a more terrible call ever in the replay challenge era?

@KoreaXboxnews I think the opposite. Phil walked in with next to nothing in an absolute disaster. Asha is walking in with almost every IP a CEO could ask for, a competent product, and the knowledge of what needs to be done.

It feels like history is repeating. Whenever Xbox gains ground by focusing on core gamers and finally stands close to PlayStation, Microsoft’s top executives step in. They try to push Xbox ‘Beyond,’ but end up going too far and undoing the progress.
