@QuantumRiddle @BenYousef_E I think this situation is quite peculiar as there are people who actively attribute parenthood to God, using the same terminology he is using. Why would he knowingly or unknowingly want to be seen as one of them.

@BenYousef_E Sometimes these words don't translate literally. Omo olohun used here simply means a believer. Just like in football terms, "omo man u ni mi". It doesn't mean Manchester United gave birth to me. I hope you get

I am near certain this caption is from a lyric. These are the ways music affects you. Worse is, some people might know this is wrong and still sing it anyway. A Muslim who recites Al-Ikhlās every day attributing parenthood to Allah. Ma'ādhallaah. Wee need to be careful. NB: there is no joking about matters of aqeedah (Al-istihzā), lest one by one's own hands nullify their Islām.

@beloved2837 If I understand your initial post correctly, you were educating us that certain names are preferable in islam but this man was implying that it's all culture and he said he got evidence from hadeeth.

I am totally unworthy of the categorization but yes, the name can have an impact on a child. One should endeavor to beautifully name their children after the names of Allaah (‘Abdullaah & ‘AbdRahmān being the best), the prophets, sahāba and great people in general, great desirable qualities, etc.

No. It’s not just a simple “no” without reason though. In Islam, a Muslim woman is not permitted to marry a non Muslim man, while a Muslim man is allowed to marry from the People of the Book. That ruling is there for a reason faith, leadership in the home, and the preservation of religion. But beyond the ruling, I also speak from personal experience. I grew up in a home where my mom is Christian and my dad is Muslim, and I’ve seen firsthand what that kind of dynamic can do. The confusion, the lack of clarity, the internal conflict… it’s not as simple or as “peaceful” as people like to imagine. Before I found Islam for myself, I struggled with identity and direction because there wasn’t one clear path. I had to figure everything out on my own, and it wasn’t easy. So for me, it’s not just about what is allowed or not allowed. It’s also about choosing stability, clarity, and raising a family on a solid, unified foundation. I wouldn’t willingly put myself or my future children in that position. Some people may think love is enough, but from what I’ve seen and lived, love without alignment especially in faith can become a real test. Adios.

As a Muslim can you get married to a Christian?

In the second hadith, the actual ruling of the hadith, as is, is hasan (which is still usable, esp for a purpose like this) but the version of the hadith that’s authenticated is the one without “call them after the names of Prophets”, i.e the riwāyāt that it’s best to give the Abdullaah and AbdRahman names are Sahīh.

The major reason why meat from female goats are tougher is age. Some are slaughtered before their first birthday! Female goats on the other hand are investments. They're used for breeding and milk production. They are often slaughtered only when they are older or no longer productive. By then, they would have developed more cross-linked collagen in their connective tissues, which makes the meat tougher and less soluble during cooking. The second reason is connected to the first. The more the female goats get pregnant and lactate, the more fibrous muscle they develop, over time. This also increases the toughness of their meat. In a nutshell, if you slaughter a male and a female goat of the same age, you may not notice much difference in the toughness of their meat. To make the meat tender faster, cut unripe pawpaw or pineapple peel to the meat. Papain from pawpaw and bromelin from pineapple are proteolytic enzymes that will break down the tough fibrous muscles. You'll definitely notice the difference
Arojinle@arojinle1

Should I explain why meat from female goat is tough? Goat meat is called chevon, by the way.

This meat sharing that I participated in had me fighting like John Cena. So, it was 85k per slot and when we were about to start sharing, the cow sharer said he was going to take the neck for himself. Niccur said it was the tradition. As how now? Something we had already paid your services for? I refused because why? If na tradition, why una still dey charge us exorbitant amount? And this tradition emanated from the olden days when meat sharing was carried out by semi skilled people who did it as an act of goodwill. So it was fair to compensate them with a token which was either the neck or the legs or any part they fancied. But when it became commercialized, they transferred this action into modern day meat sharing. Back then, meat sharing was done by men whose payment was gratitude, palm wine and maybe the neck if the gods of kindness were smiling. It was goodwill. It was community. It was, “take this small thing for your effort.” Now? You have turned it into a business model with profit margins and still smuggled in the old benefits like contraband. Sir, pick a struggle. If this is tradition, reduce the fee. If this is business, drop the folklore. You cannot be charging like you went to Harvard Business School and still operating like your certificate was issued by your great-grandfather. And I stood there, my spirit rising like a lecturer who has just caught a student quoting William Shakespeare without citation. Because there are things my truncated teaching career has taught me. Once you let one nonsense pass unchecked, it will multiply like exam malpractice. Today it is neck. Tomorrow, “By tradition, the sharer takes liver.” Next tomorrow? “By culture, we reserve the thigh for administrative and boom! Before you know it, you’re carrying bones home like archaeological evidence of your own foolishness. No. Not on my watch. I adjusted my imaginary gown like an Oscar-winning professor of Common Sense, looked him dead in the eye and said: “Sir… remove your hand from that neck before this becomes a practical class.” Because oppression in this country rarely arrives with drums. It comes dressed in calm sentences like: “Na how we dey do am.” And if you don’t interrogate it, you will inherit nonsense like family land. The funniest part? Some people were nodding. Nodding! As if the ancestral spirits had logged into their brains and pressed “agree.” Me, I refused. Because I did not pay ₦85k to sponsor history. I did not come here to fund cultural preservation. If tradition is hungry… Tradition should go and rear its own dam!n cow! 😌🔥 Credit: Oluwabukola Oseni
