Other African teams are waiting for Ezinne Kalu, Promise Amukamara, and Victoria Macaulay to retire so they can try to stake a claim to the AfroBasket. But Oluchi Okananwa, Uche Izoje, and Gabby White are like, “hold my beer” 🤣🤣🤣
This annoying habit we have in Nigeria, where foreign-based players are criticized when they get called up to the national team, is driven more by jealousy and bitterness than anything else.
Direct your anger at the NBBF, which has refused to develop the sport in Nigeria, and leave the players who are simply representing their fatherland. Allow these girls to play basketball in peace.
@BigKensyn Lol
Stop Kenny please🙏.
Our Men basket players are very weird !!!
They whine too much. They should take a page from the girls' book. They tend to whine too much when it comes to the national flag.
I don't like👎
I don't like👎
NBBF puts the spotlight on the women’s game while the men’s side stays in the background, just as NFF gives more attention to the Super Eagles while the Super Falcons often go under the radar.
life is not balance

Can Wrenwyck Oluwaseyi Ijiwoye 🇳🇬 fill the shoes of Ezinne Kalu?
She is a 5'6" Point Guard that won Gatorade Arizona Girls Basketball Player of the Year (2024).
Can she burst our bubbles against LA Sparks 👀

@frajatta92@nmesomachendo Big lol
Tu cherches à me déstabiliser ???
Bah,tes arguments sont faibles !!!
Elles sont nées au pays ou pas ???
Le reste se sont des histoires✌
@BusariMutahiru@nmesomachendo Pallas left Nigeria when she was 15. Bolagun left when she was 13. It's Musa I am aware that she played for Zenith Bank girls.
Do have a good day.
Heres a take of @nmesomachendo on the current realities of the D'Tigress 🇳🇬 in terms of player selection, pathway for home talent and what it means to represent Nigeria. Is this current criteria for selection a sustainable pipeline or will it have it's own shortcomings?

“Representing Nigeria Would Mean Everything” — Adebanjo Eyes D’Tigress Chance
Lagos-born basketball talent Blessing Adebanjo has expressed her desire to represent Nigeria, calling a potential D’Tigress call-up “a dream come true.”
The former Deep Waters, MFM, and First Bank player, who has developed through Japan and now the NCAA, says she remains deeply connected to her roots.
“Representing Nigeria would mean everything to me… I carry Nigeria with me everywhere I go,” she said, adding that she is “open and ready” despite no contact yet from the national team.
With D’Tigress set for friendlies against the Minnesota Lynx (April 25), Los Angeles Sparks (May 27), and Indiana Fever (June 2), the window could offer a timely chance for emerging talents like Adebanjo to stake their claim.

@DtigressNG Give the men's team to Coach Rena Wakama. I repeat again give the men's team to Coach Rena Wakama "Because I think and I'm sure that we can win with her on the bench"
Thanks
Even though the D’Tigers have ended their journey at Afrobasket, they bow out with pride. You cannot mock the team. Sending off the defending champions in a tournament is not an easy fit and they did that at the group stage.
@NatSportsComm@ShehuDikko@woye1@BukolaOlopadee Give the men's team to Coach Rena Wakama. I repeat again give the men's team to Coach Rena Wakama "Because I think and I'm sure that we can win with her on the bench"

The National Sports Commission commends Nigeria’s men’s basketball team for their spirited run at AfroBasket 2025, despite today’s unexpected 91–75 quarterfinal defeat to Senegal in simply what can be term a bad day at the office.
D’Tigers had a flawless group stage in the tournament, overcoming Madagascar, defeating Tunisia, and outclassing Cameroon. The team indeed showed the resilience, talent, and passion that define Nigerian basketball.
Though the journey ends here, the lessons and experiences gained are stepping stones to greater achievements ahead. The NSC stands firmly with the entire D’Tigers team.
Nigeria is proud of you, D’Tigers.
The best is yet to come.

@DtigressNG All countries have been in preparation (camp) for 1, 2 or even 3 weeks. But you: NO. As always, you are dragging your feet.
This doesn't look professional.... Alls that.
