@TheBrownFuture @GovPressOffice You said US oil companies set their own prices and they don’t. Now why are we talking about gas prices? Is there anything happening in the world that is causing prices to go up?

@Buscusriot @GovPressOffice Oh, ok, you should know the difference between basic supply and demand prices, which are in flux, and set prices based production quantities as OPEC does. Big difference if you didn't specify.

@TheBrownFuture @GovPressOffice If CA removed its regulations and taxes, of course it would bring down prices. But why are we talking about bringing down prices? That is, WHAT is happening in the world that is sending prices up? Answer that question.

@Buscusriot @GovPressOffice No, you responded to my original post, which asked couldn't California do anything to lower gas prices as it stands. You responded to me, therefore you answer my original question.

@cyclone_gav this is such a weak take lol.....right after a match, athletes handle tough losses differently (and are exhausted mentally)......its called "raw emotion" and he's probably just "in-the-zone"......No one should care lol

@Buscusriot @GovPressOffice US is not a member of OPEC & it decides it's own prices. There was more demand for American oil as the rest of the world was shorted because of the Hormuz situation. Either way, you're trying to switch the topic: Can California do anything to lower it's gas prices as it stands?

@TheBrownFuture @GovPressOffice Prices are set on the global market. And about 20% of the world’s oil comes from there. Why are you bringing up hypotheticals? Now, are you trying to tell me that the war has had a small impact on prices right now? Yes or no.

@Buscusriot @GovPressOffice Sure, until you realize only 2% of America's oil comes from the Straight of Hormuz. If America stopped exporting it's oil to other countries, then it would have a plethora of cheap oil.

@UpNorthEric @evanwch Where did Trump campaign on going to war with Iran and starting a global energy crisis?

@evanwch I think you don’t understand history. Iran is killing thousands of their own citizens and has been at war with us since 1979 when Jimmy Carter screwed up.

@ColleenCaliend2 @evanwch Dude started a war he said he wouldn’t start, and bc of that decision, caused a global energy crisis - which is driving up prices, which he said he would lower. Tell me how that’s a good look.

@evanwch Seems pretty popular with his base, and outside his base, he has a terrible legacy anyway. I don't see any harm.

@Buscusriot @GovPressOffice Do you know what "exogenous shock" means? And also do you think California should do anything to lower prices regardless on why it's higher?

@TheBrownFuture @GovPressOffice “They're higher in California than the rest of the country regardless of exogenous shocks” I didn’t ask about that. I asked why gas prices are higher now than they were before. Answer the question.

@Buscusriot @GovPressOffice They're higher in California than the rest of the country regardless of exogenous shocks. The rest of the country is worried about reaching California levels, so imagine what you want the country to best used too.
