@FrankBr05713205 I spend more on the tiny canister filters for my 22-year-old winter beater than I do on cartridge filters for my "nice" car.

Why does less cost more? Here is another example of where we are getting less and paying more money for it. For years our vehicles oil filter was a metal canister with the paper filter and valves inside of it. Many cars today use a cartridge filter and the filter replacement is just the paper insides and an O-ring, but yet the cost of this is twice as much and sometimes more than the original metal one. So why does just the paper insides minus the metal canister and the valves cost us more? Something is wrong here as far as I’m concerned.

Today's wind tunnels and other tools are vastly better at reducing drag and increasing stability. The older car from 1963 has a drag coefficient of 0.33 and the newer car 0.25. Older cars have spiffy looks but horrible drag. Newer cars have dramatically less drag, and more importantly, increased stability. This constrains their looks. If you look past minor cosmetic details you'd be surprised at how similar modern cars look. There's an entire science devoted to just dealing with the drag, noise, and stability problems caused by the rear view mirrors on each side.

@WeAreCanProud My heating bill is pretty cheap, so was my furnace. Replacing it with heat pumps and needing to keep my furnace for when the heat pumps can't cut it will not be cheap. Everyone using more electricity will make that more expensive too.

@_murc_ @MatrixMysteries I like driving my own car, I just don't like poorly shielded LED headlights blasting photons into my eyes at night. Giving up something I enjoy shouldn't be the go-to solution because manufacturers don't know how to shield headlights.

@MatrixMysteries Buy a Tesla, the car will drive for you. Side bonus, they have matrix headlights (adaptive headlights), which literally avoid blinding cars passing by, by turning of small portions of light at a time, so it never hits their eye with that annoying blinding shit.

Why is it basically mandatory for most of today’s Western AAA game industry to have such ugly characters in their games?

This lady came out in the morning to this. Her front end of her car, fenders and wheel wells were destroyed. 💯 You can see some type of claw marks on the car. She didn’t hear anything and no alarm went off. Some said probably a bear but others said the claw marks were too close together. Others said those are teeth marks. 😳 What do you think it could possibly have been? Would an insurance claim cover that?
