@kellytra @EDUwithEmily I was about to say this exact same thing. OG tutors are in high demand with dyslexia rising. Some of our OG tutors make about $70 an hour. It’s an investment for the full training but worth it. Also, speech pathologists are more needed now as well.

@EDUwithEmily I would suggest getting certification in Orton-Gillingham and teaching kids to read! You can do it remote or have them come to your home.

@notthefakeSVP We live in Hawaii. It’s harder for us to play the license plate game than anywhere in mainland. It took almost a year to get them all. If it’s not military, it’s a little tricky. Alaska is is not difficult to find here.

Trying to explain the “license plate game” to kids as we travel and they’re like…..what? “If you saw a Hawaii, it was unbelievable!!” Blank stares….what?

Probably our biggest job as Ts is to make sure all our kids feel valued. Copied this idea from my daughter’s gr 1 T- all Ss wrote compliments about each other to print and mail home for surprise at Xmas. My daughter is 13 now & still reads hers from first gr.

So much to do, BUT this is how I recharge, keep the 🔥, & avoid burnout. Working hard, managing time wisely, & prioritizing a balanced lifestyle for myself & my family. After a fun day of teaching & learning, I finished a section of reports then went for a hike! 💙🐋
