If you’re going to a No Kings event tomorrow, please wear a mask (ideally a respirator like an N95) to ensure the event is safe and accessible for all Keeping yourself and your community safe and healthy is an important part of resistance Masking is kindness and community care

Hello! I’m in the process of pitching an article about CC folks whose relationships ended due to differences in precautions. Would anyone who has had this experience be willing to be interviewed? You could be anonymous if desired. #yallmasking #covidconscious #saltingthevibes

@kai__meadows @null_nullspace Well surely it’s only your anecdotal experience that matters not 470,000+ studies revealing that Covid causes long-term immune, neurological/brain and organ damage and vascular disease. NTM, much of the damage is subclinical until it causes a medical emergency or chronic illness.

The CDC depicts COVID data with a "cool blue" map that violates ethical norms for geospatial analysis. Their longitudinal graph uses a cool blue vertical axis, no numbers. Studies have shown the general public quickly interprets red as risk and blue as cool. #CalmMongering

and yes i understand that more masking (even imperfect) among the population will reduce transmission but im asking you guys to understand that you’re arbitrarily picking and choosing what time is acceptable to disable and kill people when you decide it’s okay to unmask bc vibes

we are so lucky to live in modern times where we have the tools and technology to literally ELIMINATE most airborne pathogens if we wanted to. we could eradicate the flu, the common cold, covid. we just don’t and kill people every year because it’s too much of a hassle apparently

not everything is covid! it's just as likely as this condition that is documented in hundreds of thousands of studies to be caused or exacerbated by covid

@StinkRatsCharms Hard agree. Ive said before that framing masking as “perfection” rings like a parent telling their child “sorry I wasn’t perfect.” It purposefully distorts the bar from minimum/basic prevention to some lofty/unrealistic goal, and how dare we ask for “perfection.”

Like I dunno man, I'm just not willing to be told I'm only allowed to more safely access medical settings and maybe a few other places people absolutely must go if folks are feeling generous and act like that isn't a little fucked up. And, again, workers

I mean yes something is better than nothing, but talking about it like this bothers me so much because we deserve to be able to access ALL public spaces, and workers deserve protection. This kind of take is very "accessible parking spaces should only be valid 9-5" to me
Emma H 🖤🗿七七@Emma_h_mua

@tiredguineapig I agree. It'd be lovely if people would mask all the time, but given that's clearly not realistic in today's society, something is better than nothing and that something should be in places people can't avoid being. Medical settings in particular given that's where ppl are sick.

The more ppl who engage in disease mitigation behaviors, the easier disease mitigation is. The fewer ppl engage, the harder it is. Right now it’s very difficult, bc all of the burden is falling on those most affected and who suffer most if infected. We need your help & solidarity

@NicoReznick For sure that tracks! I think my problem is I keep trying to make sense of a logic that has too many holes 😂 like “so you think it’s empty, but many of you did it 2020/21…so was it empty then too? Or is this a new development?” Appreciate your thoughts

Avoiding catching/spreading a virus that can ruin any part of you is not psychosis; refusing to may be. Wearing a mask isn't virtue-signalling; it's good public health praxis. But good for you, proving you're not one of the annoying Disableds who care about rights or community.
Ana@JiraiAna

@chaitrovert @LinkofSunshine bc you ppl gave yourself a psychosis over it and are now in competition over he can virtue signal the most at disabled ppl, that's why

Advocating for long covid without advocating for prevention, is like trying to bail out water from a boat that's sitting on the ocean floor. The two things can't be separated and I don't trust or respect anyone who thinks they can. #LongCovidAwarenessDay

My covid risk assessment is simple: if there is any risk of transmission, I remove it. I also protect my brain by other means when indicated. My brother nearly died standing in a queue-a ski fell from a chair lift above him onto his head. Accidents happen;why safety gear exists.

@chaitrovert I really loathe the labeling of it as “im/perfect” to begin with. It rings like when a parent defensively dismisses critique like “sorry I’m not perfect” as if perfection is what we’re asking for, rather than a consistent bare minimum for necessary prevention.

just like being covid cautious, being imperfectly covid cautious doesn't guarantee that someone is definitely not a eugenicist. like why should i praise or compliment someone who only masks a few days before they get on a plane unmasked
モナ♡@demoiinjanai

@chaitrovert i hate when cc ppl demand us all to be more accepting of imperfect masking. yeah irl i don't even bother trying to tell ppl anymore, just get them to for airports and hospitals, which obvi is better than nothing. i'm not gonna praise able ppl who did 😷 up until 22 for that

@RachelTrue FWIW that was mostly Biden’s policy too and when disabled people pushed back they were told they would suffer and “fall by the wayside” so that “healthy” people could “get back to normal” 😭
