Despite not being able to make it to IA yesterday, I still got some good pictures of the storms in IL. It’s not all about those! #ilwx

@GumryWX @seanvoysey Thanks for the reply. Interestingly enough, we also had RFD at our location, despite being more than 2-2.5 miles south of you. Which is why we thought it may have been a tor.

@Bvarium1 @seanvoysey At this time I was north of Toluca, but I was also looking north towards where I suspected the updraft was. So that feature was probably between us. I know I had RFD and small hail at my location so I’m not sure if the positioning makes as much sense for a tor

Just a note from last night: a few spotter reports of funnels the western side that were clearly SLC. It’s important to relay clear information, as the NWS was also dealing with a tor-e cell as this was unfolding. No need to call anyone out, but would recommend night chasing in groups if you don’t have the experience. Safer a!:!you can discuss what you are seeing with other spotters.

@NWSLincolnIL has confirmed a tornado north of Lacon and Varna last night. We had visual on the base but were too far away to see the (likely ucondensed) tornado. This was taken at 8:05 PM just west of La Rose on CR 400. We then believe the storm cycled and (1/2)

@JordanHallWX Not sure if this also includes the storm when it was all the way back near Varna, but i’m pretty sure we saw something. Whether thats a gustnado or tornado i’m not sure. We did see two power flashes and a transformer caught on fire.

Whoever is reporting funnels and tornadoes on this GARBAGE storm west of Dwight, IL you need to stop. It’s 55 degrees out here and cold. I haven’t seen 1 funnel or anything that looks like a tornado. Absolutely ridiculous. #ilwx

@wxkylegillett Was this June 19th near Regent, ND? We got there about 10 minutes too late to see the tornado but managed to keep up with it as the cell was dying and got some insane shots. The last panorama picture is probably in the top 10 for pictures i’ve taken.

@YjlWx I’m so glad I decided to go with some precip at the very end of the deadline, ended up winning my final four matchup because of it (azwx21).

After not much weather in San Antonio for the #WxChallenge tournament for weeks, a poorly predicted squall line and then wake low (when 35 kt happened) created drama for the final 4, with day 14 being 81/65/35/1.12. None of the 165 forecasters had >25 kt wind or >1" precip.

@creative_barb @NWSChicago NWS Chicago's forecast areas includes a few counties of Indiana because of the proximity to those counties. The NWS office in North Webster does the rest of northern Indiana

@NWSChicago Why is the national weather service in Chicago and Chicago media constantly giving updates on weather in Indiana? Does not indiana have the means to broadcast their own weather?

Not much has changed in regards to tonight's lake effect snow in NW IN: A band of intense (2"/hr rates) lake effect snow will shift westward into portions of N Porter Co after midnight. Very dangerous travel conditions are expected under the band which includes I-80/94 #INwx
