Iran did something interesting and monitored traffic on the Arad–Dimona highway for years, collecting targeting data. But in reality, it's part of Israel's most secret nuclear program. This city, neighboring Dimona, functions like a nuclear research center and lodging complex "camouflaged" with civilian buildings. It was established since the 1950s for nuclear activities in Dimona. In particular, nuclear physicists and engineers from the Soviet Union were settled in Arad.
