@DrewWBN Mark Pope definitely just doesn’t seem like himself at times. Pressure of the job maybe, hopefully he goes back to what works for him. Had a lot more success with that.

@ByCoreyN That's a really good question. I'm not sure I can answer it beyond speculation of a failed roster selection that just doesn't buy what their selling.

I don’t think Mark Pope gets let go if Kentucky doesn’t win this game… but I do think it will be the catalyst that ends up sealing his fate.

I think a lot of it is he knee jerk reacted on roster construction. Trying to sacrifice a little bit of shooting to get a lot better defensively and athletically. Problem is the guys he brought in, none of them are shooters and they’re not gifted enough athletically to be dominant on offense or defense. He tried to build a roster full of guys that don’t fall into the skillset needed to run his offense. So for 30+ games he’s been just throwing stuff at the wall to see if anything sticks.

@RakestrawNick Yeah I have no explanation for what’s going on with him. It’s like he’s not even the same person he was last year.

@ByCoreyN Man I atleast thought he was a good xs and os guy but now im not even sure about that. Its been god awful at times this year.

@BRad24365 I would say that is probably so.

@ByCoreyN I think the AD transition guarantees Pope gets a 3rd year. Barnhart probably change coaches while he’s on the way out, and since the new AD starts in July I doubt they’d make a change that late.

He said a ton of words, but in essence answered the question… he implied it without giving another headline which is what he said he did not want to do. This would’ve been a story had Yaxel said it in say August of 2025. On the heels of the opening rounds of the ncaa tournament it’s just meaningless drivel. Plenty of headline worthy responses could’ve been made by asking relevant genuine questions.

Mark Pope was asked about a quote from Yaxel Lendeborg that he was offered between $7-9 million by Kentucky He doesn’t answer the question and does media commentary instead

@ByCoreyN @CoachWatson11 I wish we would embrace vintage styles for uniforms too. The icicles could be modernized and be the best in the game lol. Took forever to modernize the denim and we’ve seen them once.

I can’t stop thinking about this. somebody who knows what they’re doing design something like this please.
