For those operating a 3PL / larger scale ecom business. Have any of you purchased or built your warehouse? I am leasing and need to get a bigger spot again next year. Leasing has value but owning / building sounds interesting. From the looks it would cost $1.2-$1.5m in this area for the size. That’s buying something already built. No idea costs of a build but I figure I should assume a year plus of planning. Part me says I should lease and then buy our next house with enough land to just build a 10,000 sqft building on it. This cuts down future buyers though vs having them separated. Or leasing it out myself. For those who decided one way or the other what’s been your experience?

@ChadCarleton The brand can file a complaint with Amazon. Also should file a police report and if interstate (which sounds like it is) can also file a report with FBI. If insurance, should also file a claim as they will have the resources to properly chase especially of alot of $$

@TMobile ordered a phone on the 11th never received. Been given a run around the last 2 weeks. Charged but never delivered. Tracking shows no movement at all. Blank tracking. No one can cancel, refund or reship. Been a customer for 14+ years.

All right. 3pl. I’m trying to pick a Midwest 3pl We ship about 8k orders a month out of la. So we figure half that from Midwest but we grew 94% this month compared to June of 2024 What should I know about three PL’s folks ?

✅ Shipping Label Cost Monitor Set a postage threshold for every SKU. When an order ships, the label cost is compared against the SKU threshold and sends an alert if actual exceeds threshold. DTC folks, how else are you monitoring shipping label costs? Would love feedback...

Multiple SKUs meaning more than one of the same SKU, or two+ unique SKUs? If more than one of same SKU: We take the total shipping, divide by the SKU qty ordered (i.e. 2) and compare the avg against threshold If two+ unique SKUs: We process shipments at the line item level so it's easy to handle. If overnight: typically the customer is paying for this. If you look at the screenshot of the email alert, there's a field for "Shipping Proceeds" which accounts for the $$ paid by the customer. We'll back out the shipping proceeds from the label cost and compare the Net Shipping Cost against the threshold set.
