@JacobsFieldRBW @dmansworld474 If there’s something to blame, it’s still the years-long inability in the org to develop big league hitters. This was a porous hitting team for most of the year, with few promising signs from any of the Year 2 or 3 guys. As fun as Sept was, questions remain on the bigger picture.

@MattMoscona The problems are many, but on O-Line: How many combined career starts do Moore/Thompson/Mubenga/Chester have? Plenty. Adams/Davis have a combined 3 years in this system. It’s October. BK’s ‘inexperience’ claims are weak. These guys have been around long enough. #coaching

@JacquesDoucet The MLB in-game player interviews get me. When the booth is interviewing the mic’d up 2nd baseman not in between innings in the dugout, but while he’s playing the game in the field. Who asked for that?

It's sports, not war. However, I've always felt that when a coach is coaching a game, he or she is in the midst of battle. Stay away from them! How networks have been able to push the envelope further and further with these in-game interviews is crazy to me. The first quarter interview, the halftime interview, the third quarter interview, on and on. Even in a more "relaxed" sport like baseball (Jay Johnson would say there's nothing relaxed about it) these interviews can cause problems. Coaches can't wait to get the heck out of there! Honestly the postgame interview is usually the only one worth a darn, that delivers any kind of quality content and really is the only interview that should be done.

@OurCLEGuardians I get your logic. Also logical to stick with Bibee who had made Stanton look silly first 2 ABs. Vogt had nothing to be stubborn about & you can’t guarantee a Chisholm out. Point is, no good options. Tough series/opponent. Appreciate your content all season. Go Guards.

@ByoXXII I disagree. There's a fine line between believing in your guys and being stubborn. Bibee would've gotten Chisholm out. Why even risk it vs Stanton?

Challenging their hottest hitter instead of pitching to a guy who hadn't done anything all series just isn't smart baseball. I'm hopeful this is just words from Vogt, and he'll think better of it after some more time to reflect this winter.

@JacobsFieldRBW Losing Bieber in Apr and McK/Allen not panning out should’ve derailed us by July. Huge testament to pen that we are playing on Oct 19. Emergence of Sabrowski/Walters may give front office options to find a starter. Elite pen becomes avg if starters can’t give you length.

This isn’t trying to pile on for Clase, I think he’s going to bounce back next postseason and be just fine My point is that it wouldn’t have been so bad this postseason to have another starter who can last 4 innings and trading relievers for high-end everyday players can be good

In the winter, I suggested trading Clase for a starter or hitter due to the strength of the bullpen, because relievers are volatile and his trade value was bananas This guy harassed me about that take ALL YEAR Last night, he blocked me to try to prevent me from showing you this

@FranmilsEyebrow @OurCLEGuardians The conversation starts and ends on the mound. The bats aren’t perfect, but they work. The starting rotation is priority 1A before the deadline or else the 2nd half is going to be dark.

When I got the job w. the Lakers I thought I’d be jealous of the players. I grew up dreaming of playing in the NBA. What did I learn? I wasn’t even close. They are unicorns among unicorns. I learned just how far fetched that dream is for anyone. When I have kids, I will not be hiring special coaches, I will not be critical in the slightest. I will do everything possible to maximize their fun. If they happen to win the genetic lottery, they won’t need the extra travel team exposure camp to be found. My dad always said, “if you’re good enough, they’ll find you.”

@RabalaisAdv Poor argument. Could say the same about FSU in the number of games they escaped or had trouble pulling away (with Travis at QB). Would you rather play a Travis-less FSU and Norvell? Or Bama and Saban? The answer is why Bama is in, FSU out, as silly as the CFP format is.

@TBob53 The real problems are too hard to fix. So they do shit like this to distract citizens from the state government’s widespread failure to improve their standard of living in any meaningful way.

On top of being wrong it’s such a goddamned stupid fight, just an unbelievable, monumental waste of time, we haven’t had this shit ever and it didn’t matter at all, imagine being an elected official skimming off the public fine and thinking this was a worthwhile fight 🙄

@JeffStanek1 Context is important before thinking Coach is nuts. Was player’s workload managed properly throughout season? Does Coach have a plan (i.e. needs 1-2 solid innings on Fri.)? Does player manage arm properly on short rest? Unfortunately, the answers here are usually concerning.

I text a HS HC this morning to ask when one of his kids will pitch next. He says, "Hopefully Friday. He threw 75 pitches last night (Monday)." What is a respectful way to tell that coach he should really be giving his HS sophomore more rest than that without stepping on toes?

@BarrettSallee Yep. Can you imagine laying down ‘$x million’ of your own money to pay someone not to work? Crazy to think about. The same ‘$x million’ that could be donated to [name anything productive], or a transformational non-profit gift. CFB is taken too seriously. It’s big $$ biz now.

Schools don't pay buyouts. Boosters do. We can't tell other private citizens how to spend their money. Layoffs and furloughs suck, but let's not pretend that CFB coaches buyouts are coming from the same money pool.
