@Cernovich They lie about water consumption, power consumption, and any jobs will inevitably and largely be H-1b. Costs in the region will go up, but it will be too late to do anything.

The only way the pro data center propaganda works if we travel back to 2016 and Big Tech didn’t censor real Americans. And then in 2020 during Covid, they didn’t protect China. But they did protect China. You couldn’t tell the truth about Covid. That is the reality.

@gopTODD 99% of the state is opposed to these data centers, of course you're going to have liberal and even conservative groups in opposition. I don't care that these people are liberal.

They are liberal advocates who “broke a story” this week disparaging Mike Schultz. They never even called him for a comment. They just blurted defamatory innuendos that were mostly untrue and made all kinds of unsupported accusations. #utol

A couple of Utah women have unexpectedly found themselves at the heart of the national debate over a massive, proposed Box Elder County data center, after the investor behind the project earlier this week called their organization out. ksltv.com/?p=909411 ✍: Andrew Adams

Some capitalist crony Utahns would pave the rainforest if they could just to make a buck. These people live in Bountiful and in the upper Avenues of Salt Lake.

WOW! Tucker Carlson confronts Kevin O'Leary suggesting he paied off three county commissioners in Box Elder County Utah to build the world's largest Surveillance Center. O'Leary: We have to keep all of our tech ahead of China's, including data centers and everything else. But ultimately they are our adversary on our way of life. Carlson: Then can I ask our way of life? Right. So I would think since you disagree with the Chinese way of life which is pretty civilized in a lot of ways but the one way in which it's barbaric is that it grants its citizens no real rights. And so I would think that you would be very worried about aping their system which we are now doing. Like they have total surveillance. It's a panopticon in China. We should create our own. Let's take 40,000 acres in Utah and make it possible for the government to know where you are at all times and what you're thinking. Listening to you on your phone. Like we have that. O'Leary: You have to choose the the less of two evils in your scenario. And I'm telling you the the what you should do is say "I want Kevin O'Leary to succeed. I want him to beat the Chinese in compute power" and then then use the laws of the United States to make sure that you keep that compute power in check whichever way you want. But to not have it available to put down my shovel, I don't think people want me to do that. Even the people in Box Elder, the majority of them want me to hold my shovel and start digging. And that's basically the debate we're having. Carlson: How do you know? How do you know that? That the majority of... O'Leary: Because they voted for it unanimously before the Chinese guys... Carlson: There was a referendum dispatch like all this crap that's being spewed out. Hold on. I'm Yeah. And I may have fallen for some of it. So you corrected me. There was a referendum among citizens or did some like county board vote? O'Leary: We we actually went through the whole process that you have to do by their laws and were granted three to zero. They the the commissioners of the county said we want three people voted. The people of the county elected officials that's how you do it. Carlson: How hard is it for Kevin O'Leary and Amazon and Microsoft and Google to subvert three county commissioners in rural Utah? O'Leary: They vote. They wanted They asked us to come. They asked us to bring $15 billion. They asked and they voted and it was a three to zero vote. Carlson: That's how Google and Kevin O'Leary got three county commissioners in rural Utah on their side. Good work.

@MarioNawfal Look up the video where O'Leary defends H-1B's. That's basically what will happen in Utah. He'll flood the State with cheap labor. Also, parts of Canada have done the same. Beware.

@arielhelwani You hit your peak with the MMA Beat era but that's long gone. You are a political hack that likes to use his "minority" status and play victim. You did it with Gina and others. You are a contemptible rat. Your low viewership numbers now are reflective of the person you truly are.

I started covering this sport in 2001 as a freshman at SU. UFC wasn’t even 8 years old. Saturday AM radio show that no one listened to. My first pay check covering MMA came 8 years later. Call me a lot of shit, if you wish, but a leech is laughable. There was nothing to leech off. Sounds like my honest criticism of inauthentic banter - not the fight, which I was glowingly positive about - struck a nerve. Ah well. That’s the job. I’ll tell you who is a leech: managers who care more about their standing with the entity they are supposed negotiate with than their own clients. Managers who suck a % off the blood sweat and tears of broken fighters and care more about their own fame than their clients. Managers who beg media to speak to them rather than speak to their own clients. Laughable. Judge me by my enemies. If they think I’m a bad guy, I’m very happy. I was here before y’all got here and will be here long after, too. @uncrownedcombat: last of a dying breed.

I feel quite strongly about this: You cannot do what Strickland did and say the insane and vile things he said in the buildup to that fight, then tell us seconds after the fight is over, “I was just trying to sell the fight.” If you’re going to take us on that ride, you have to take us on that ride until the very end. That was the biggest bunch of bullshit I’ve ever heard. That is fraudulent. You cannot just walk back all the crazy things you said. I have nothing against Sean. I like Sean. But that was extremely disappointing.

@ChunChiuLu @KSLcom Well kind of. It was high in '87. Even the Foxboro area of the early 2000s was impacted in some rising waters. The state was never built in such a way to sustain this population which means we need more reservoirs and I would argue fewer people.

@KSLcom Let me tell you a secret. The Great Salt Lake has been shrinking for 10s of thousands of years. It used to be called lake Bonneville. No matter what you do it will continue to shrink naturally.

We're not gonna drain the Great Salt Lake. That's ridiculous. We are gonna create incremental jobs. This is not gonna destroy air quality because we don't have the option to do that. That's controlled both state and federally, and we don't want to do that. That's not what we wanna do. I want this to be the example of what we can do all across the country. This is not going to be my only project. But in order to do that, we have to prove it, and we're not building 40,000 acres of data centers. That's the size of the land parcel. So saying it’s twice the size of Manhattan is ridiculous. We're building very slowly and incrementally, and everybody around us nationally and internationally can see what we're doing. It'll be totally transparent, and we want it to be the shining example of how you do this.

@RoyalWins1 @WilliamMeservy Closed loop for that amount of acreage is evaporative and requires maintenance and a constant supply of water, it's more water than you think, and it depends on the water quality. It's not like your car.

Data centers are needed to store, process, and deliver the digital information and services that modern life depends on. They are extremely useful, and we should build more useful things.

Kevin O'Leary's massive data center was approved by a county commission in Utah last night. At 40,000 acres, it would be 2.5x the size of Manhattan. The commission approved the proposal despite opposition from hundreds of locals.

@ByuSome In 7 years they will use more natural gas than Utah actually has, the closed loop still uses a lot of water because of evaporation and maintenance based upon the acreage size alone. Then there's the H-1bs that they would hire instead of Utahns.

I truly don't understand why this is a problem. It's out in the middle of absolutely nowhere. You've never been to the land it will be built on. You never had plans to do so either. It will provide jobs and improve the economy for Utah. As long as they can figure out the power and water, then 🤷🏼‍♂️
