Your colleagues are never your friends but direct unknown enemies.
A senior colleague’s name was flagged alongside another senior colleague. He drew my attention to help him do the training he was flagged for.
I was checking his system to confirm if it was true when the other senior colleague asked what the issue was, because anytime they call me it must be a system issue—even though I am not an engineer.
The man quickly refuted that it was nothing serious and quietly told me not to say anything; I should just go help him do the training he was flagged for.
Both of them have been flagged. As I left, they started gisting and laughing.
I just shook my head and left.
If only you could see the hearts of the people you work with, you would not say “Good morning” to them.
That doesn’t mean you won’t greet them, after-all we are all good people—competition turned us this way. 💔

Do you know you can get into a company as a cleaner and later lead a team?
You read that right. I have a friend who got into Coca-Cola as a cleaner.
This person holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering. He applied for an engineering role at Coca-Cola but wasn’t given the position. He was persistent, and the person who wanted to assist him told him there was no more space.
So he asked for help with anything available, even product sales. The man told him sales was also full, but only a cleaner’s position was left. He knew he couldn’t do it, that’s why he hadn’t mentioned it.
This guy said he would take it, and he did.
He wasn’t just a cleaner. He made sure the MDs and top management staff knew him and did his work perfectly for some months until luck came his way.
One day a top management staff engaged him due to his knowledge in some areas. The staff realised he wasn’t ordinary, so he told them how he got in. The staff felt for him and took up his case.
When sales positions opened, he switched to sales on contract and brought top dealers in the northwest into their books.
Two years later he became a full-time staff member and was posted to the northeast to run things there.
I know you will argue this, but these things happen. If you hear people’s stories, you would be surprised.

“After my dad built Banana Island and it worth billions of dollars the LGA came to collect it, saying the federal government should never have given him the land in the first place 😳
He was later dragged to court and started facing serious death threats 💔”

“My dad is the real owner of Banana Island we have all the proof, documents and architectural drawings It was originally called ‘Lagoon City’ before the government collected Makoko/Victoria Island from him and gave him the land as compensation😳” — Remi Adeleke

Let’s schedule a sit down. Me you and the dad you say “discover(ed) banana island.” This isn’t about money. I have money. Came to America with nothing and created my wealth myself. No handouts.
I’d just like sit across the table from you both, look you in the eyes and hear how this discovery came about. I’m not as easy to find as you all, but I’ll make it easy for you.
It’s all fun and games, until it’s not. You’re dealing with someone from a world you will never comprehend. The clock has started.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, @RealKiddWaya

One of the quietest guys in my office resigned last month.
Nobody really noticed him like that. He doesn't wear expensive clothes, hardly gives his opinions, and doesn't even post anything on social media.
While others would post about their accomplishments on LinkedIn, this guy doesn't care about that. On few occasions he talked, he'd just say:
“Forget LinkedIn jor.”
People mostly saw him as one struggling guy trying to survive Lagos. Others even think he's unserious with his life by being quiet and not making new connections.
On his last day, our manager jokingly asked him:
“So where you dey go now? Hope say no be another small company.”
That was when we found out he was relocating to Canada.
A fully sponsored job, with a far better salary than almost everybody there. Accommodation was also already sorted.
The silence in the office that day was something else.
You see...
People don't understand that not everybody advertises their life while building it. And the fact that someone is silent or not flashy doesn't mean they're not progressing.
