The Class 56 Group

Saturday saw the C56G organise their own private tour at the East Lancs Railway. Featuring the group's now sole locomotive 56006, together with a short rake of blue & grey mk1 carriages, the 72-mile trip generated an impressive £2485 towards the ongoing upkeep of the locomotive.

At the end of yesterday's running with @C56G2's 56006, the loco was posed for a photo shoot at Bury. My first time attempting these kind of photo shoots and Im pleased withbthe result. I'd imagine there will be some better efforts about but im happy.

An exciting day for The Class 56 Group tomorrow, as we take charge of our private tour at the East Lancs Railway with 56006 and a rake of four blue & grey mk1 vehicles. This is then followed by a photo shoot, all to help celebrate the golden anniversary of The Class 56 🌟

56098 passes over the River Wreake at Rhubarb Island, Melton Mowbray on 26/02/26 working the 0Z47 Leicester LIP to Test Tracks Melton (Old Dalby). The scenic island is part of the old Melton Mowbray Navigation and is named after the large, wild, rhubarb-like plant that covers it.

Awaiting its path to Leicester, 56098 rests in the Up Sidings at Melton Mowbray yesterday afternoon with the 0J01 Old Dalby (Test Tracks Melton) to Leicester LIP. Whilst away for an exam, 47727 is occupying its place at the test track which had arrived from Leicester just prior.
