Did you know Commodore Business Machines had a ship? The famous "Commodore Clipper" wasn't actually owned by Commodore Business Machines (or CBM), but the company did famously charter the historic ship for a memorable event!😉 Back in the summer of 1983, during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Chicago, Commodore turned heads by hosting a major product showcase and party aboard the SS Milwaukee Clipper—a classic Lake Michigan passenger steamship and car ferry originally built in 1904 as the SS Juniata, then beautifully rebuilt and renamed in 1940. They branded it the "Commodore Clipper" for the occasion, complete with the Commodore logo proudly displayed on the hull. It was moored and used as a floating venue to demo their latest computers and wow attendees with style—very on-brand for Jack Tramiel's flair for bold marketing. The real Milwaukee Clipper (now a National Historic Landmark and museum ship in Muskegon, Michigan) had a long career ferrying passengers and cars across Lake Michigan until 1970, survived multiple rebuilds, and even served as a floating restaurant in Chicago before becoming the preserved treasure it is today. 40 years ago, Datel's Sound Sampler music feature inspired this ZZAP! "Wild Boys" cover. The only big review was Zoids (96%). And no. Not overrated. Yes, way too weird/esoteric for kids, but many older players appreciated its complexities. Other than that, a poor month for games.

The scream that starts The Way of the Exploding Fist scared the daylights out of a lot of us the first time it loaded. I also discovered something interesting… I have two floppy copies and they show different title screens. Flying kick or dojo? @gamesyouloved #c64reposts #c64
