California LULAC testimony in opposition of SB403

LULAC is extremely disappointed in Assemblymember Muratsuchi’s attack on our families who decide to send their kids to charter public schools. Many immigrant families do so in order to receive a quality education and deserve the same protections as students from the traditional sector. We call on the Assemblymember to immediately withdraw his proposed amendment and to start standing up for all Latina/o students, regardless of what type of school their parents decide is best for their children. @AsmMuratsuchi

César Chávez was an American hero who gave voice to farmworkers and laborers. Today, on César Chávez Day, @RepRaulRuizMD and I introduced a bill to establish the César E. Chávez and the Farmworker Movement National Historical Park to pay proper homage to his tireless work for the dignity, respect, and equal treatment of workers.
