@Keir_Starmer Today I’ve leaned my council tax is rising 7.5% (Labour council). My water bill is increasing by 15%, road tax up 2.5%, food prices rising every week so please don’t tell me you are putting money in peoples pockets you are totally blind to reality.
Whatever is going on in the turmoil of politics, I know that for you and for millions of people, what matters is the cost of living.
That's why we are taking urgent steps to tackle it head on.
Freezing rail fares, rolling out free breakfast clubs and free school meals, boosting the National Living Wage and easing energy bills.
Putting more money in people’s pockets.
That’s my government’s focus.
@MikeTappTweets Calm down? How patronising, voters don’t know what the government stands for they just twist and turn on every decision they put forward. So forgive us, the voters, for wanting the govt to actually do what they were elected to do and not make it up as they go along. Roll on 2029
Calm down.
Digital right to work checks remain the intention.
The exact details of the Digital ID is in development and will be at public consultation soon.
This is an exciting opportunity to make our lives easier with a modern joined up system - we have fallen behind as a nation.
@bbcquestiontime But you’re not asking are you you’re not giving anyone any choice as you’ve decided what’s happening. You’re not coming round cap in hand or rattling a tin asking for a contribution. So sick of this phrase being churned out.
“We are asking everyone to make a contribution but we are keeping that contribution for working people as low as we possibly can”
Labour’s James Murray says that the government had to make “fair” but “necessary” decisions in the Budget to tackle “long term challenges”
#bbcqt
@implausibleblog The phrase we are asking people to contribute is being churned out by them all and it’s insulting. They’re not asking, we have to do whatever they say and whatever they implement. I am sick to the back teeth of the government sooner they’re gone the better.
Paul McNamara, "Chancellor breached the manifesto by freezing income tax thresholds and tax rises"
Keir Starmer, "We haven't breached the manifesto"
Labour are now speaking just like the Conservatives did in office. This was not the change people voted for #C4News
@CAMPERVAN75 Hi Jane, I am sorry to hear this. We are aware of some fake profiles on social media which we work on getting these taken down. Do you happen to have the number that called you and we can get this reported. Thank you ^Chelsea
@TUIUK I cancelled my holiday to Skiathos as per email to say I’d get a full refund lady on phone told me amount and I repeated it back. When the confirmation email came through the amount is incorrect as the deposit doesn’t seem to be refunded. Can this be looked into if I dm?
@TUIUK Hi I know this is a few weeks ago now but I got a phone call spoofing the tui logo on what’s app trying to get my details for refund Unfortunately looks like I gave my tel number to a spam account man very rude on phone which raised alarm bells. Are you aware of this previously?
@CAMPERVAN75 Hi Jane, Can you DM us your booking reference, lead passenger name, date of birth, postcode and can I check you are the lead passenger please? Thanks ^Chelsea
@TUIUK please can you advise re the situation in skiathos. The island is flooded, there is no electricity and they are running short of food yet we are still scheduled to fly first thing in the morning. Jet2 have cancelled their holidays but Tui seem insistent on going.
@CAMPERVAN75@TUIUK We were due to fly out of Manchester tomorrow morning at 6:55. Contacted TUI at 7pm tonight and was told nothing will be flying out until at least Thursday, but our flight will more than likely be Friday. Been told not to go to the airport tomorrow.
@TUIUK@LPat2014 I’ve had no communication at all from Tui re this and due to fly first thing. What am supposed to do. Do I go to the airport at 4:00am or just sit up all night waiting for someone to email me? The place is in a state of emergency it’s not safe to be flying people out there.
@LPat2014 Hey Lorna, due to the adverse weather in Skiathos forecast for 06th September we’ve taken the difficult decision to delay flights overnight ^Dan
@currys Hi I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks for a fridge freezer that was on a 10-21 day lead time. Still shows awaiting date on track it and no one can tell me when it will be delivered. Getting a bit frustrated as without a freezer for 3 weeks. It’s a Hisense RB440N4WF F Thanks
@CllrRussBowden@WendyMaisey@warringtonworld@WarringtonBC Surely if it wasn’t in the draft local plan as a developable site it could not have been used. Why the abstaining in voting then - why did they not vote it through for this this reason? Residents are understandably angry about this and mainly at this being included in the plan
@CllrRussBowden@WendyMaisey@warringtonworld@WarringtonBC Sorry I disagree if this had not been included in the local plan it would not have got as far as it did. In that case why was it included? You said it was to protect it - clearly not the case. I am fully aware who granted the consent - I have read the report
We're almost ready to start flying again, and we hope to be returning to a selection of our favourite European destinations. Find out more about the TUI Holiday Promise here >>> bit.ly/2APF8rK
