3 State Parks Rangers have been killed in the line of duty (all automobile accidents): Patricia M. Scully, Richard D. Schnurr & George Kowatch. We honor the lives & careers all of the State’s Peace Officers who have died in the line of duty.

Today, the State Capitol grounds hosted the annual California Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony where family and friends gathered to honor the lives of California Peace Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Just last week we announced the biggest expansion in decades to our state park system, and today we recommended 18 projects totally $42.6M to the NPS in Land and Water Conservation Fund grants to create more outdoor recreation, enhancing the Outdoors for All initiative!

What does the fox say? 🦊 In this case, a family of three gray foxes! They were recently spotted by this trail cam at Providence Mountains SRA as they visited a water source. One of them was feeling rambunctious and climbed the bare ornamental Russian elm. #WildlifeWednesday
