On December 30–31, 2024, under @USAIDEastAfrica, @FeedtheFuture, the Resilience Challenge Fund and @CBCResilience Project, we successfully conducted a two-day training program in Golbo and Butiye Wards, Marsabit County, to equip women with practical skills in kitchen gardening. With 26 women and 1 man participating, the training aimed to: ✔ Empower women groups to grow their own vegetables, enhancing nutrition and income. ✔ Address challenges like water scarcity with the installation of shade nets and provision of 5000L water tanks. ✔ Demonstrate sustainable gardening techniques, including nursery bed preparation, pest control, and water conservation. Key outputs include: 🌿 Establishment of two demonstration gardens. 🌿 Distribution of tools, shade nets, and water tanks to support vegetable production. 🌿 Hands-on training to build skills in sustainable gardening. We’re proud to support community-driven solutions to food security and nutrition challenges, building resilience from the bottom up. @acdivoca @Chemonics #WomenEmpowerment #KitchenGardening #SustainableDevelopment #FoodSecurity #ResilienceBuilding

Today,Strategies for Northern Development (SND) had the privilege of participating in the Cross-Border Community Resilience (CBCR) project joint inception meeting for the Moyale-Moyale corridor, organized jointly by SND and GPDI in Moyale, Ethiopia. This meeting marked the start of a critical cross-border intervention between Kenya and Ethiopia. The inception meeting had several key objectives, including kicking off the joint cross-border initiative, fostering collaboration and cooperation among government agencies, NGOs, CBOs, and local communities, including women, youth, and people with disabilities, and ensuring the buy-in and support of cross-border partners for successful project implementation. Additionally, the meeting sought to lay the groundwork for long-term commitment and involvement from all stakeholders, ensuring the sustainability of the project. We are proud to be part of this transformative initiative, which aims to build resilience and foster inclusive development for communities along the Moyale-Moyale corridor. Together with our partners, we look forward to making a lasting impact on the lives of Cross-Border communities. #CommunityResilience #CrossBorderCollaboration #CBCRProject #MoyaleCorridor #InclusiveDevelopment #SND #GPDI #PartnershipForChange #ResilienceInAction #GPDI @Chemonics @USAIDKenya @USAIDEthiopia @USAIDEastAfrica @acdivoca @CBCResilience @FeedtheFuture
