@YankeeGunner He does fair in duels, has great recovery pace, and plays RB. We need to concern ourselves less with age/resale value for every transfer. Premier League starting experience is invaluable. We don’t buy Konsa to be our CB of the future. He’s a better fit right now when we need him.

I think people upset about us going for Konsa are largely basing it on the World Cup which is not right imo. Sadly we need some additional CB cover. Who else are we getting that has averaged 3000 min of PL football the past 5 seasons, had good on-ball qualities & is in his prime?

This deal should heavily depend on the price.
I wouldn’t pay anything above £45m for Konsa. He’s a good player, but he’s 28 years old and would be coming in as Saliba’s backup. He’s already in his prime and still has limitations in his game.
The only Saliba alternative I’d be willing to pay over £50m for right now is Lacroix.

Murillo is a good player. Would be great left-footed cover defender progressing play into those channels.
Konsa is EPL proven and able to deputize at RB. Right footed, which we now need, and one of the very best in terms of anticipation.

🚨 Instead of settling for defenders like Ezri Konsa or Maxence Lacroix, I’d rather Arsenal make an attempt to sign Murillo from Nottingham Forest. He’s Premier League proven, aggressive, composed on the ball, and has the profile to cover for William Saliba during his injury spell. It won’t be an easy deal, but if Arsenal can negotiate with Forest, I’d take Murillo over those two every day. Thoughts? 👇
