@DaileySuzanne I am definitely interested in learning how to best structure time with my ‘buddy class’ this year. My third graders love it and look forward to it, but I’d be interested in learning how to really make the most of that time to foster cross grade level connections. #cbsdpd

Our slow chat continues with our next question! I’m so excited to see what you’re thinking of bringing to your classroom families in 19-20! #cbsdpd

@Kutz3rdGrade @DaileySuzanne @CBjtownsend @MIF4Educators I agree that collaboration and just some "downtime" with colleagues is super important!! I really want to make myself take that time this year instead of always working over lunch. I am hoping that it will help me come back more refreshed and less stressed for the PM!! #cbsdpd

@CarrieMuir4 @DaileySuzanne It’s apparent that your students respond positively to you and your teaching. The time you take to connect with each student throughout the year makes a big difference!

@DaileySuzanne I hope my students feel like they GET to be in my class. I try hard to make it a place of warmth, respect, praise... and fun. We laugh a lot (Happiness Advantage) & I believe my Ss are confident of my care and fairness. Tho' now I want to start the year w/an activity on this!

@Kutz3rdGrade @DaileySuzanne And don't forget about all the hugs you give to your former students as they walk by (it doesn't go unnoticed). When your current students see older kids getting excited about you and missing you, it makes them feel so lucky to have you as a teacher! #cbsdpd

@DaileySuzanne Considering this quote, I realized there are some students who clearly feel like they GET to be in my classroom, and others who feel like they HAVE to be. I work hard to keep those kids who ‘GET’ it feeling it all year, and try to lift other students up every day. #cbsdpd

@Kutz3rdGrade @DaileySuzanne It’s a great idea to explicitly discuss character traits during class meetings. Thanks for this! My students enjoyed using the book 365 Days of Wonder to reflect on strengths, goals, and connections this year. #cbsdpd

@DaileySuzanne Empowerment...through class meetings! Ss are able to get to know each other better as they build stronger relationships with their peers. My kids especially ❤️ Positive Thought Tuesday where they choose a character trait/example to describe their classmates! Heartwarming! #cbsdpd

@DaileySuzanne Wade & Hope’s four E’s of engagement: All are so critical, but my focus will be on environment. I love the idea of room transformation based on content. Can’t wait to learn more about that and apply it this school year... keeping the classroom updated and relevant is important!
