She was never meant to live this life…
If she had stayed there… Bee would have been born into the same suffering… running beside a cart… feeling fear before even knowing love.
But fate changed.
Honey was rescued.
Her pregnancy became a journey of care, safety, and dignity.
And today… Bee is not a victim of that life.
She is running free.
Kicking the air.
Stopping only to come and hug me… then running off again like the whole world belongs to her.
She doesn’t know pain.
She doesn’t know fear.
She only knows love.
And Honey… she watches her with quiet pride… like she finally knows her baby is safe.
This is what rescue means.

Keep your cats inside, this is what happens because too many people just don’t.
If you must let them outside, build them an outdoor catio or leash-train them. Just don’t let them roam around unsupervised cause even a “friendly” nibble from a cat is a death sentence for the bird.

My team is really struggling. They come from very poor backgrounds themselves, yet they show up every day because they love these animals so deeply… and the animals love them back.
Some have already had to resign because they simply couldn’t cope with the rising costs. Others have started coming on bicycles just to keep going.
One of my workers, Usman… you may have seen him in my videos… he has such a pure heart. The new, scared animals only trust him. He is not fully strong physically or mentally, and I could not let him travel 20 miles daily on a cycle. So now he is staying at the shelter, away from his family, just to keep his job and continue caring for the animals.
This is the reality we are facing… from every angle.
At the same time, I am receiving emails every day of monthly donations being cancelled. I cannot even sleep at night anymore.
I was so excited to move to this new shelter… it felt like a dream. But now… everything feels like it is slipping away.
This crisis has hit us at the worst possible time… when we were already struggling.
Please keep sharing… this is the only way we can hold on and keep going.

A drone that brought food to Ukrainian Defenders on positions, brought back passengers - a cat and dog.
They flew 12 kilometers during their evacuation. The Defenders of 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade are taking care of them.

I’m an introvert. I naturally crave peace and quiet. Too much noise, stimulation, or social interaction overwhelms me. But I grew up in a world that rewards extroversion. If you’re not loud, outgoing, don't express yourself, people assume something is wrong with you. So I learned to perform. To be more social. More energetic. More available. More “on.” And I suffered in silence.
That’s why a slow life means so much to me. It’s not just a philosophy. It’s a rebellion against everything we’ve been taught is “normal.” A slow life is a way that actually fits your soul. A life lived at your own pace. A simple, peaceful, meaningful life. And after years of pretending to be someone else, there is nothing more healing than finally becoming yourself.

Due to a severe lack of funds, we are no longer able to continue operating Second Chances Animal Sanctuary as we have been. This decision has not been made lightly, and it comes after exhausting every possible option. Please know that the animals currently in our care will continue to be loved, cared for, and supported until we find them safe and suitable forever homes. They remain our absolute priority. However, it breaks my heart to say that we are no longer able to take in any more animals in need. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, believed in us, and stood by us. (If a miracle happens, I will absolutely let you know straight away). Your kindness has meant everything—not just to me, but to every animal we’ve been able to help. This isn’t how I ever wanted things to end, but right now, it’s the reality we are facing 💔" They currently have 16 dogs. These guys take in the large breed dogs that many rescues shy away from.
