𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗢𝗡: "𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚'𝗦 𝗚𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞 — 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗢" This is the follow-up to VDH's strategic analysis I posted earlier — and he's now going further. Ground troops. Kharg Island. A Marine corridor along the Strait of Hormuz. He's laying out what the endgame actually looks like. Trump, VDH says, appears to be preparing a ground offensive — and that changes the calculus entirely. His entire second-term doctrine has been built on "one-offs": k!ll Soleimani, k!ll Baghdadi, bomb I-S-I-S, take out Wagner, go into Venezuela, destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. In and out. No forever wars. MAGA is on board with that framework. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗼𝗳𝗳. So why consider it? Two targets that air power alone can't fully solve. First: Kharg Island. Ninety percent of Iran's oil is piped to this island for export. VDH's scenario — take the island, start processing the oil, hold the revenue in trust for the Iranian people, and tell them: this money is yours when you get rid of these people. Starve the regime. Fund the revolution. Second: a Marine corridor along the Iranian coastline at the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has ballistic missile silos along that coast aimed at Gulf petroleum nations. Air power probably hasn't gotten them all. So you put Marines on the ground, create a sanitized enclave, and guarantee nothing comes through that strait to threaten shipping or allied infrastructure. Dicey. Escalatory. VDH knows it. But he lays out why it may be necessary. Iran's surviving strategy remains what it was: rope-a-dope. Take the punishment. Wait. Bet on 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘪𝘬𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘢 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 to do their work for them. Intimidate the Gulf monarchies. Keep the Strait closed. And just last. Meanwhile Trump is reportedly pushing his generals: one more week, one more week. And the generals are pushing back — carriers have been deployed for months, arsenals are being drawn down, logistics are tightening. VDH's conclusion is as clean and honest as anything you'll read on this war: 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨'𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬. I learned this earlier today... Virginia Code § 30-19.9 states that ballot explanations must be written in plain English, must be neutral, and must not include arguments from either side. In other words, the wording presented to voters is not supposed to persuade, influence, or push voters toward a yes or no vote — it is supposed to simply explain what the amendment does. If we are going to follow the Constitution and the law, then the rules should apply to everyone — including the people writing the ballot questions. Neutral means neutral. Not persuasive. Not political. Not biased. Just the facts so the voters can decide. Official wording of the redistricting amendment is... “Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?” Does that sound neutral, non-persuasive, non-influential? Since this ballot question goes against current law, can Virginians sue to have it removed/overturned??? Any lawyers want to weigh in on this?

Virginia’s redistricting referendum gives voters the power to respond. To a President who says he’s “entitled” to more GOP seats in Congress before Americans vote in the midterms. To efforts in other states to give those seats to him. Join me in voting YES by April 21.

@MichelleMaxwell It is being litigated, as well as other violations of law and the VA Constitution. SCOVA will hear the cases AFTER the referendum. There is a very good chance that even if the measure passes it will be negated by the court.
