According to The Atlantic, citing three people with knowledge on the matter, following White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff's communications with Iranian decision-makers through Pakistani intermediaries, a 15-point plan, based on the same one presented to Iran last year, was presented for them to concede to if they want to forestall further strikes.

The fact that it was two different facilities, makes it impossible to write off. Even if somehow this was collateral damage from strikes, Iran is going to see this as an energy infra attack and retaliate.

Well no, not quite. They didn’t admit to having a stockpile of 11 nuclear weapons. They (allegedly) told Witkoff they had 400+ kilograms of 60% enriched uranium - which could be made into a nuclear weapon if enriched to weapons grade (typically 90%). Then you actually have to make a weapon out of it - which Iran has never done, and which the CIA claimed they had no evidence Iran was doing. That could take months or years if they decided to do it, not next week. Rather than refusing to handover a stockpile of 11 weapons which did not exist, Iran refused to give up their nuclear enrichment capabilities which could also be used for peaceful purposes like nuclear power. So, there is a difference between asking a country to give up 11 nuclear weapons and have them refuse, than asking a sovereign nation to give up their right to enrich uranium (which was the actual ask) and thus give up their peaceful nuclear energy independence. So it’s not quite as simple as you make it out to be. Note I have no idea if Iran intended to build a bomb or not - but they certainly did not have a “stockpile of 11 weapons” they refused to give up. There is no credible source to support that claim whatsoever. I can assure you after being bombed they will certainly build one now - or acquire one from North Korea - unless the current regime is replaced by a compliant one, which has not happened yet.

You fail to mention that the regime’s attacks have been intentionally targeted at civilians, airports and facilities and people working in the oil infrastructure which will hurt the economy in those countries for some time. After listening to Senate floor debate this morning, my hope for each of us is that we will find someone who loves us as much as Oklahoma Democrats love ensuring 1st graders have access to hardcore pornography. One of my Democrat colleagues even said that he rarely rises in debate, but felt particularly compelled to debate against this bill. He then proceeded to compare those of us who do NOT want pornography in school libraries to Nazis. Senate rules prohibit the reading of the explicit content in many of these books on the Senate floor. Yet Democrats are obsessed with ensuring school children have access to them. Is there anyone who can tell me why Democrat politicians are like this?
