i'm pretty sure X-Men: Children of the Atom (1999) is the main jean story they're adapting and i kinda see the vision the idea of her knowing charles but not the OG5 is really interesting and her arc in the movie ending with her enrolling in the institute would perfect
pabloo ⏾⋆.˚@wiickling

i'm slowly coming to terms with sadie playing jean in BND with a big role in the movie, her powers and personality are accurately represented AND post-credit scene about her being recruited by Charles i'll be happy sadie is AMAZING casting, i hope the writing is too

@RedPrecariat Socialism must suit the unique material conditions of the country in question. China is not Korea and Korea is not the USSR. This belief that you can just copy another country's method and it'll work perfectly is based on idealistic nonsense.

Many communists on here talk about the DPRK in the same way liberals talk about Singapore, in that they ignore the huge scaling problem when comparing its PolEcon model to much larger polities. The CPC/IRGC can't just Jucheify their countries from above through sheer willpower.

@mukualt That's not how billings work. Sadie Sink gets third billing because she's famous, expensive, and in the movie for a long time. It probably means she's the antagonist, since she's got higher billing that the supposed antagonist Tramell Tillman.

@_TheSmartAlec1 Rachel makes way more sense. Rather than redoing the Phoenix saga for the 5th time, the MCU should skip towards the later parts of the Claremont era and try to adapt new stories. I don't want to see teenage Jean and Scott yet again.

Not wanting Sadie to be Jean cause you don’t want Jean to be in the movie is fine. It’s 100% understandable even, I’ve come around on it but I get it. Why are people offering the worst and dumbest alternatives like Rachel Summers or Hallow’s Eve as if they would be better 😭😭😭

@arakkosuperstar She's closer to the 05 than she is Xavier. There's no way he would've invited her to the 05 if she wasn't noticeably younger than him. I do think the 05 should be 5 years older than they actually are though.

Ehhhh actually this is one book I’d say it totally works to have a not-all-white cast for and isn’t revisionism. I went to a private boarding school and know that world very well. The reality is that due to the empire it was pretty normal by 1940/50 for boys from very wealthy Indian/African (especially Kenyan/Nigerian) families to send their children to a British boarding school. If you look at the Old Scholars boards you’ll see names like Rashid and Tunde. It’s even a plot point in PG Woodhouse.
Paul@WomanDefiner

You want to know the real blackpill on the race swapped movies? They aren't making these movies to cash in or entertain people. This is going to be what they show kids in school to brainwash them into thinking that it was always this way.

@HornLeftists Exactly. It’s insane to me that so many socialists don’t see this obvious fact. Abandoning 200 years of Marxism in favour of ZOG bullshit is mad, especially when CIA assets like Tucker Carlson are pushing it.

🔴The Danger in Following the North American Left’s Framing of War on Iran Washington Is Attacking Iran. The danger in following the North American left’s framing of Washington’s war on Iran is that it obscures the actual structure of power. Too often, the war is framed as an “Israel-US” assault or a “Zionist-US-Israeli” attack, as though these are equal or separate forces or to treat Isreal as a real material force . But that is not a material assessment. Israel was created by London for its imperialist objectives, and now it is guarded, funded, armed, and upheld by Washington. To place them side by side as though they are equivalent centers of power mystifies the hierarchy between imperial patron and regional outpost. It also deflects from critical examination of Washington’s decades-long planning, strategic continuity, and overall imperial design in the region. This is part of a larger pattern. In the case of Iran, many suddenly remember to name Washington because Israel’s role as an extension of imperial power is too obvious to hide. But in Sudan, the same people do not speak of a Washington-London-UAE attack. They simply say “UAE,” leaving out Washington and London even when the broader imperial structure is plain. So Washington’s power is named in one case and concealed in another. That inconsistency shows that the framing is not grounded in a stable materialist analysis of power, but in a liberal-moral lens that narrows events into acceptable narratives and controlled forms of imperial violence. A Marxist approach has to begin from the root: who funds whom, who arms whom, who protects whom, who integrates whom into a regional order, and who possesses the real strategic command. On that basis, Washington is the primary power. Israel is not an independent world-historical force equal to Washington, nor is the UAE. These are client and proxy structures with varying degrees of "autonomy", but they are not the source of imperial power. The source is Washington and the ruling class configuration behind it. That is why so much of the North American left’s language is analytically worthless. Phrases such as “Israel controls the US” or “Israel controls Trump” are not materialist. They reverse the actual relation. Instead of locating power in the imperial state, its ruling class, and its military-strategic apparatus, they attribute decisive agency to the client. That is not Marxism. It is mythology. It is no more serious than replacing imperialism with stories about hidden masters, except it wears the language of the left. What made Michael Parenti valuable was that he kept the focus on Washington, empire, and class power. He did not mythologize Israel or treat "Zionism" as a material force or the primary contradiction. He approached imperialism materially. That is what much of the North American left lacks: material analysis. Once power is assessed at its root, a lot of the noise falls away. One stops being distracted by the endless fixation on client states, ideological labels, and sensationalized proxies. The focus shifts back to the imperial center. That is why the clearest formulation is often the simplest: Washington is attacking Iran. Everything else must be subordinated to that material fact, not used to obscure it. The danger, then, in following the North American left’s framing of Washington’s war on Iran is that it mistakes the instrument for the hand that wields it. It grants client formations a false independence, turns imperialism into an afterthought, and replaces historical materialist analysis with ideological confusion. A Marxist approach must do the opposite. It must identify the principal power, trace the structure that sustains the war, and refuse every framing that hides the source of command behind the noise of its proxies.

How can anyone frame it as "Israel-US War" continuously without assessment of the implication in equalizing an entity that was created by the British and funded/built/managed as outpost as though its a material force with its own military might when its an extension of Washington

@Pokemonprimed @HuffyDNK @sonnysehra There was plenty of trade between the large trading towns in Flanders and the coastal countries of sub-saharan Africa. No reason why someone with this skin colour couldn't have come across a painter in Flanders who paid him to model.
