Statement from our Executive Director @RevDMinor on the passage of HB 888 in the Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee: “We applaud the Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee for passing House Bill 888 – a crucial piece of legislation that would repeal the death penalty in the Keystone State. Capital punishment has proven to be a wasteful and expensive government system that fails victims' families, violates the sanctity of life, and unsuccessfully deters crime. We stand with Rep. Russ Diamond and other Pennsylvania conservatives in the fight to end the death penalty and we remain committed to pursuing effective public safety solutions for the Commonwealth. Conservatives Concerned urges lawmakers to ensure this legislation is brought to the floor of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.”

CHARLES "SONNY" BURTON During a robbery, a man was killed. Sonny did not kill the victim, did not instruct anyone to kill, and wasn't even in the building when it occurred. The state of Alabama agreed to resentence the shooter to life without parole, yet now seeks to execute Sonny. Even the state of Alabama admitted that it created an "arguably unjust" situation.
