@CalltoActivism Wow. Hunter is a pederast and a crack addict. We already know the Dems are run by a mafia of pederasts, gays, crack addicts, and financial criminals.

Wow. Hunter Biden, who knew Lindsey Graham for decades as a close family friend, not only outs him as gay - but says Washington is ran by a “mafia” of closeted gay Republicans. This tracks.

@GoodLordJord @NickWatts The comparison was walking vs riding. It was a stroke per nine, and the study attributed the scoring improvement to "improved mental focus". It wasn't a comparison of push cart vs carrying.

@CCCurmudge @NickWatts A number of college teams make their kids use push carts. There was a study that found they save ~2 shots a round vs carrying, and reduce fatigue.

My problem with Bryson last week is that he held everyone hostage long after the final putt dropped. Say what you will about Rory McIlroy, but when the round is over, it’s over. He accepts the result and moves on. He doesn’t keep arguing hours afterwards.

The author isn’t actually concerned about golf’s future. He’s worried that golf’s future isn’t being written by people like him anymore. And he’s smart enough to hide that pretentiousness behind words like “history” and “tradition”. “The the dumbest possible acolytes.” “Newly minted golf fan.” “Ignorance or lack of interest in its history.” So you have to be dumb or ignorant to appreciate DeChambeau? He’s not worried about kids throwing tantrums. He’s terrified that millions of people are falling in love with golf without his permission. Without reading the right books. Without genuflecting at the proper altars. The Caddyshack reference kills him here. He invokes a movie about the exact thing he’s doing. He’s a snob defending the sanctity of his institution against outsiders he’s deeming as beneath him. Really gross piece here.
Fried Egg Golf@fried_egg_golf

"But it was clear, in the aftermath, how those kinds of antics become the pheromones that attract the dumbest possible acolytes, the newly minted golf fan who fell in love with the sport during COVID and is now happy to sully it for others with their ignorance or lack of interest in its history. You could see it mushroom in real time, the army of people eager to share loud opinions about rules they barely understand, a cadre of sycophants insisting that DeChambeau was being persecuted for his politics, or his association with LIV Golf. Bryson cannot seem to resist the allure of their attention, and a lot of his antics do feel like a performance specifically for them. "That’s fine when it’s confined to his YouTube channel. He loves the idea that millions of kids might get interested in golf by watching his Break 50 series, which is entertaining and interesting. But where does the internet personality end and the golfer begin? Every year, there are a handful of kids at the Drive, Chip and Putt who arrive in Augusta saying they were inspired by Rory McIlroy’s swing. A dozen years from now, will we see a generation of kids inspired by DeChambeau to throw tantrums over a two-stroke penalty? Will they march into scoring and demand their scorecard a day after their round so they can auction it on TikTok? "I don’t like gatekeeping when it comes to sports. There is a reason that Caddyshack is one of the most revered sports movies of all time — who doesn’t love to see the snobs and the wealthy country club elite knocked off their pedestal? But DeChambeau’s recent habit of turning himself into a perpetual victim is detracting from what a dynamic golfer he is. Even Danny Noonan needed Maggie to snap him out of feeling sorry for himself so he could focus on what matters. Reportedly asking the R&A if the President of the United States can join a rules dispute at the Open means you have become Spaulding Smails, not Ty Webb." - @KVanValkenburg in today's newsletter (Photo Courtesy: Stuart Kerr/R&A)

@CCCurmudge @TeeTimesPub @TheOpen Are you really saying that for effect? Each of the majors has their own unique identity. The Open is the first, oldest and unique as it’s played on the terrain that gave birth to golf - links. I also love, love the masters for its pristine course and traditions.

@mikebromham @TeeTimesPub @TheOpen While you won't get an argument from me about the beauty of links golf, this particular iteration of The British Open was basically bomb and gouge. Bryson's "meltdown" was more mental from the penalty situation than it was anything.

I’ve been inundated with hate mail and death threats since I testified against Todd Blanche in Congress last week. It’s all thanks to Senators Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt, who chose to use their time at the hearing to spread dangerous misinformation and rage-bait their followers—instead of confronting the issue at hand, which is Blanche’s failed leadership of the Justice Department. youtube.com/shorts/Ces2TXf…

Bryson used to admire Bobby Jones, the man who drew millions to the game with his integrity. These days, he’s become something else, a circus act, and it’s showing us there are downsides to “Growing the Game.” thefriedegg.com/articles/2026-…
