@CCFCAnalysis The busiest line in the country, the West Coast Mainline. You cannot add any more trains, hence why one problem knocks out the entire route.
London to Birmingham, Leeds and beyond was absolutely critical. Unlocks East and West in the north alongside the ongoing TPE upgrades.

@CCFCAnalysis Again, I urge you to look into the whole point.
You don't want stopping services on fast trains, it frees up paths on existing lines to expand services for freight and passengers.

Or more sensibly that could have been 5 extensive local schemes in cities that really need it

HS2 unlocks so many other opportunities for local transport which is the whole point of it.

Of course we need infrastructure and investment. But not at any cost.

@CCFCAnalysis I repeat - capital borrowing against future revenue. That is how we build things such as the Elizabeth line which has absolutely smashed estimates.

For obvious reasons, Middlesbrough fans will look back at the January window and bemoan the lack of a striker. However, the no. 9 market in the Championship was limited. The ruthless and more achievable upgrade in January was to improve on Sol Brynn and they didn’t do it. #boro

Fairly happy with my Championship 1-24 this year. Leicester, Hull and Wrexham were bad but I wasn’t really going against the grain with those predictions.
Five exact placements and 50% hit rate on the hot takes - Millwall 3rd was bang on, less said about Boro 19th the better 😂

@ExpectedBham Blues are effectively a parachute team with budget. Limited manager and poor recruitment the issue.
To have a net spend >€50mill over two seasons, and not have a single player of interest to clubs higher up the chain tells all

It's going to be interesting to see Cov next season. Whether you become more "pragmatic", esp away from home. Or lean into what's made you successful.

Been thinking more about this. All-out attack or all-out defence? No half measures. Away teams are already at a disadvantage. Sitting deep adds a second one voluntarily.
Blues are one of the worst away sides in the Championship. It is mostly mentality.
