@Dallas_Holladay Supported a 16week miscarriage a few months ago.
North island Japanese couple in London.
Mother held it, wrapped up, until tiny heart stopped. Mother placed it carefully on the gurney.
No one cried until couple were spotted bowing to the blanket with the greatest reverence

I delivered a 20 month old fetus with a heartbeat, to hand it to the mother so she could hold it as it died while getting a phone call from radiology about my patient dissecting from their coronaries to their Iliac with a BP of 220/110. Please be kind to us. We are trying.

We walk out of these rooms and situations and go right back to being bombarded with requests for other patients. Carrying that weight. Emotionally distraught. But have to keep going

@RasuShrestha @Brian_Eastwood @AtriumHealth Amen @RasuShrestha. Edge Healthcare is the way of the future. Push care to the people and protect our vital national infrastructure that is the rural health system. Independent, community-owned stable rural hospitals are the future. What’s old is new again.
English

@Brian_Eastwood LOTS going on in this space. #Telemedicine is the overnight success story that's been 30 years in the making.
Happy to talk to you about our @AtriumHealth Hospital at Home program and our "Virtual Edge" platform, and where they're going!

Smart people - Which health systems have been doing good things r/e #telehealth and #homehealth? Looking for recommendations for a piece I'm doing. (Just hospital/system names are fine - I can take things from there.) Please and thank you.

@Amorganrural @NRHA_Advocacy @ruralhealth And without an ER, that’s twenty small towns without a shot at economic development.
English

The final tally for rural hospital closures in 2020? Twenty.
That’s twenty small towns that lost their largest employer and source of 24/7 ER.
In a pandemic, nonetheless. 😡

Thank you to everyone who attended NRHA's Rural Health Policy Institute this week. When we put our heads and our voices together, Washington listens. We couldn't do it without our valued members and rural health advocates. #ruralhealth #PI2020 #policyinstitute #moment2momentum

“In the medical desert that has become rural America, nothing is more basic or more essential than access to doctors, but they are increasingly difficult to find.” #ruralhealth via @washingtonpost wapo.st/2LLyTbb

@lpolovets Amen. Many qualities which would make someone a great operator could be detrimental to being a great VC.
Ranks up there w only great players can make great coaches as stupid tropes. It’s often the mediocre players who had to learn through hard work who became the best coaches
English

Strongly disagree w/this.
1) Many great VCs have been operators, but many have not.
2) Experience as an operator doesn't guarantee being a good partner to other operators.
A good partner is someone who is insightful, hard-working, and empathetic, regardless of their background.

Founders, if a VC has never started a company, had to make a pay roll, sold a company and/or failed/shut down a company then you should pass. That’s like going to a veterinarian for your heart surgery. Could work, but you could be barking after surgery.
English

This totally applies to the US healthcare system as well.

Brokenness = potential energy. Anything badly broken is a dam holding back a lake of unrealized desires. A startup that can bore a hole through such a dam can liberate all that energy.
