Hawaii needs affordable clean energy that is also equitable, sustainable, and reliable. To incentivize the transition to such a system, Hawaii needs to implement carbon cashback, which taxes importers of fossil fuels and returns the money to residents. #CarbonCashback

WE DID IT! The House has passed the #InflationReductionAct, sending it to President Biden for his signature. This is a historic moment for action on #ClimateChange, and CCL will work to ensure that there is more to come.

The Inflation Reduction Act is not a Democratic or Republican bill. It's a bill for America. We have an opportunity to lower drug costs for seniors, lower ACA health care premiums, increase our energy security & invest in energy technologies - all while reducing our national debt

But know that our work won’t stop here. We’ll continue to fight to support working families in Hawaii and across the country, including by making child care and housing more affordable, and much more.

Democrats have produced—with no help from Republicans—a historic piece of legislation that will lower costs, combat climate change, and tackle inflation. We must stick together to pass this bill. For that reason, I’ll be voting no on amendments that jeopardize final passage.
