@whitney_wade1 I believe that Instagram is really pushing for short form videos to make it to the front of the algorithms. So many reels get shown to me just by being recommended posts. #mktg475
This week we talked about visuals on social media and how they help to grow our platform. Here is a little video/article that explains the importance of Instagram reels. Reels and videos are much more engaging for followers! #mktg475profiletree.com/the-importance…
#MKTG475 One of my favorite stores growing up (also my name) has had some trouble with connecting with its demographic in recent years. Now it’s entering a new phase to meet the new generation.

@blairadowler#MKTG475 I think the future of marketing will be seeing a lot more use of AI. I believe AI will be used as a tool to create strategies, content ideas, and copywriting.
#MKTG475 Spring '24-1 Q5⃣: Wow - it's our final ❌ discussion!🤯 We've talked about strategies, mishaps and great content. Now, let's chat about what's next. What do you think the future of social media marketing will look like? Emerging trends? How will it impact the world?🗺️🕹️
Snapchat is letting us know that it is not a normal social media. I’d argue it is with the ability to still follow celebrities and the posts seen in the discover page. Thoughts? #MKTG475marketingweek.com/social-media-s…
@blairadowler One post that recently caught my eye was this one from the Broadway production of Spamalot. After the announcement of Taylor’s new album, they were quick to make their own version of the album cover. This uses pop culture in promoting their show and makes me laugh! #MKTG475
#MKTG475 Spring '24-1 Q4⃣ : Let's talk content! Share a piece of original, organic social media content a brand or company recently posted that you found moving or engaging. Where did they post? How did you engage (like, comment, share)? Why did this content catch your eye?📷👀
#MKTG475 With the Super Bowl coming up, lots of people love to watch just for the commercials. This article talks about some of those that did what they set out to do.

@natalierose5937@blairadowler#MKTG475 I agree that Biore has established their place as a brand that doesn’t differentiate themselves from anything else on the store shelves.
@blairadowler Bioré tried social media marketing with influencers to promote products but instead became widely known as being overly promotional and not genuine. A way that Bioré can change from this, is to not do paid advertisements, and focus more on connecting with consumers. #mktg475
#MKTG475 Spring '24-1 Q3⃣: Like us all, brands (even major brands) make mistakes, miss the mark and/or fail. As we form strategies & campaigns, we may think, "What if this fails?" What brand/company do you feel misses the mark with social media? Why? What should it change? 📷⚠️❌
@bjm00004 Glossier does such a good job of utilizing UGC! Watching beauty brands use different strategies is interesting to see what really works for them #MKTG475
#MKTG475
Since we are on the topic of what brands are excelling on social media, this article showcases how different beauty brands are using social media to their advantage. There’s a reason they are top 16!goatagency.com/blog/social-me…
@blairadowler#MKTG475 Covergirl is a brand that I think has been lacking. With how big the beauty industry is and how long they’ve been in it, they haven’t done anything to stand out from the crowd for a while.
@natalierose5937 Building social media strategies with a focus on organic content will be the way to go even if it’s more difficult to reach the target audience. YouTube premium allows users to pay to not have ads play before videos and I could see other platforms adopting this practice. #MKTG475
Social media marketing is essential to companies to build their brand and increase sales. With the possibility of Ad-free social media rising what could this mean for business? This raises an issue with how companies will continue to connect with their consumer base. #Mktg475
@MalloryYeater Younger social media users are in a much more vulnerable position. Safety measures to protect them would be a huge step in improving their experience on social media. #MKTG475
Removing cookies from the Chrome browser is a challenge that marketers will need to overcome if Google rolls this out for all of its users. This is a big tool that advertisers utilize for a variety of reasons. #MKTG475wsj.com/tech/google-is…
@blairadowler@sweetgreen has a really great social media presence! They post lots of entertaining content as well as use celebrities such as Renee Rapp to make their own bowls for the menu. They’re on Instagram, Tiktok, Threads, and X. They know what their consumers like! #MKTG475
#MKTG475 Spring '24-1 Q2⃣: It's all about strategy this week. Tell us about a brand you think has a spot-on or overall effective social media strategy and why. What platforms do they use? Why do they work? (People - influencers, reality stars, etc. - also have personal brands!)🤳

It’s time to launch our social media discussion here on X, #MKTG475 Spring '24-1. Let’s get started!🗣️
Q1⃣: Why do you personally use social media? Which platform is your favorite? Why? What type of content do you post – original or shared? Or are you a social scroller?🤳
@Capitaldemarca#ICMKTG#NKU205 I think any local bar or restaurant could easily get people in the doors with the world cup. Whether its a free appetizer if the US team wins, or a discount on purchases there is many ways to appeal to people. If this is marketed, a boost in activity will be seen.
@Capitaldemarca#ICMKTG#NKU205 For the World Cup this year, @CocaCola is doing a tour of 50+ countries with the World Cup trophy for their ‘Believing is Magic’ campaign. I think this will succeed in the market because by touring a many countries, it’s a great way to spread their name. (1/2)
