This year, CEO celebrates 30 years fighting for colorblind, merit-based public policy. An incredible milestone for a tiny nonprofit in Washington, D.C. There is still much work ahead. But as we prepare for the coming year, it’s worth noting how far we’ve come.

“I believe in immigration. But the fact is, immigration only works if you are able to assimilate immigrants,” says former Reagan official @ChavezLinda. She argues that immigrants must learn English not only because it is required for citizenship, but also because it is essential for success in society.

Disparate impact liability makes little sense when our laws protect all Americans’ civil rights equally. The Center for Equal Opportunity has submitted a comment supporting HUD’s proposed rulemaking. Read more: ceousa.org/2026/03/03/ceo…

America's Book Club Linda Chavez on English as the official language: "I don't think it would do much harm...Many countries have official languages, but the practical matter is that English has been our de facto official language almost from the beginning..."

Feeding Our Future didn’t just commit fraud, they weaponized DEI, argues @EstherCKrakue. The nonprofit told Minnesota officials that if they didn’t fast-track “minority-owned” applicants, they’d be hit with a racism lawsuit “sprawled across the news.”

Honored today to swear in Devon Westhill as @USDA’s new Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights! Four years before founding USDA as “the People’s Department” in 1862, President Lincoln insisted that “a house divided against itself cannot stand” and that “the cause of liberty must not be surrendered.” Those words still ring true today in the face of dangerous, demeaning, and immoral race- and sex-based preferences under the guise of DEI. President Trump has made it clear that the era of these illegal policies is OVER. As the first Senate-confirmed leader of USDA’s civil rights office in 15 years (❕), Devon will play a critical role in combating discriminatory policies, ending religious and ethnic persecution, protecting women and children, and putting Americans First. 🇺🇸 From his time in the U.S. Navy to practicing law, serving in the nonprofit world, and working across all three branches of government, he has championed equal protection under the law and equal opportunity rooted in character and merit—NOT race or sex. ⚖️ Devon led the USDA civil rights office in the first Trump Administration, and now we’re thrilled to welcome him back to the second. Excited to work with him every day to usher in a Golden Age of Civil Rights! 🚜🌅🗽
