Flagrant Foul Criteria:
Wind Up, Impact, Follow Through.
Beyond those three, the ref is always asking: "Was he actually trying to play the ball?"
Maybe you missed it, but this no-call happened in Game 5 between Naz Reid and Victor Wembanyama.
@Doc_aka_Rich@newstart_2024 That’s not the question at all 😭 the “movies not for me” is referring to lower budget, feel good movies. Typically comedies and romances. Movies seemingly have a be major spectacles with high level production to convince a studio to take a gamble on it.
You ever scroll through Netflix on a Friday night and think… “damn, they really don’t make movies for people like me anymore”?
Matt Damon gave the most straightforward explanation I’ve heard for why that feeling is everywhere.
Back in the DVD era, studios could make smart, mid-budget movies because the home release gave them a second big payday. Then DVDs died. Suddenly a $25M film like Behind the Candelabra needed $100M at the box office just to break even. That math killed off the kind of thoughtful, character-driven stories a lot of us grew up loving.
It’s not some grand conspiracy. It’s cold economics.
This clip actually made me a bit sad for what we’ve lost — those mid-tier movies that felt made for grown-ups. I’ve been on a 90s/early 2000s rewatch kick lately and the difference is striking.
When only massive franchises are safe bets, we all end up with less variety and fewer stories that actually reflect real life.
What’s a movie (or type of movie) you genuinely miss that Hollywood barely makes anymore?
@righttimebomani It’s because of all of the build up to the elbow. All the grabbing, hacking and pushing that led up to the elbow is important context. Wemby is a likable player and there are a large amount of people that were glad to see him fight back
"If Luka got thrown out of a playoff game for yelling at a ref, people wouldn't frame his next game as a valiant return to work."
Nick Wright RIPS NBA media for holding Wemby to a double standard.
@Less_HumbleTeej I think part of it is because people realize if he was being officiated properly from the start, the elbow never would have happened. Also Wemby is just likable lol
@BalaPattySZN I mean wth was mitch waiting on…also if the offense is struggling you should probably try getting some touches for the guy that had 20pts in the first half 🥲
Draymond says the Wolves need to get their lick back on Wemby after he avoided suspension:
“What if the shoe was on the other foot and Naz was taking out Wemby? There would be fines. There would be suspensions… For there not to be a fine is crazy… After watching their coach say ‘well I’m happy he took matters into his own hands and level Naz Reid with an elbow.’ I would say to the Timberwolves it’s fair game… Who’s coming out there tomorrow night and doing it to Wemby?”

@Rae38765941@Myles5x Nah you’re right I’m just trolling, although the Portland series was disappointing, his struggles vs Randle and gobert were much more predictable. Him vs Chet/hartenstein will be really fun to watch
@CFB4and5@Myles5x He's having trouble this series because of Minny's size, but remember if we play OKC the front court will be Chet or Hart or Jdub, which is a lot different than Randle and Gobert :)
“I’m supposed to just clap like a seal and cheer on the expanded playoff. IT’S SUCH GARBAGE.”
