Thoughts on Tulsa +13 -110 (Circa) or +13.5 -115 FD (limits kinda suck for me on FD for individual games this far out) vs OKST? I’m tepid on Baylor Hayes’ potential from what I watched of him last yr so considering o5.5, but gunna pass on the 50/1, but was looking to fade OKST this season. Thought Mestemaker was pretty lackluster down stretch (Tulane conference title & SDST bowl plus USF INT fest), but didn’t seem like he was being talked about that way. Not saying OKST won’t make a bowl - but maybe fading them week 1 on road while their getting their house in order is the play (looks like line has gone a lil toward Tulsa, too)? What's the most critical 3 game stretch for each SEC team? Gators w/SEC’s tightest stretch: AU, Ole Miss, Mizzou: 3 games separated by a combined 3.49 power rated pts Georgia? Not exactly living on the edge. Lower volatility = more coin-flip heavy.

Great added layer and you're right about those three games, they got outgained and won the possession battle. But zoom out one level and the regression argument flips. That defense led the nation in forced negative plays (15% of snaps, No. 1 by a mile, 2nd in my success-rate data) and still finished 99th in takeaways. Thirteen all year, four fumble recoveries. Havoc is the repeatable skill, takeaway conversion is the noisy part, and OU got almost none of the bounces season-long. Same pressure profile with average ball luck means more takeaways in 2026, not fewer. And that's my bigger thesis: in this league, with 9 conference games now, an elite havoc defense is the one asset that shows up every single week. Good SEC offenses take away your gimmicks, they don't take away TFLs and red-zone stands. 4-1 in one-score games with a Groza winner and the league's best punter isn't a coin flip repeated, it's a formula. And if they get any run game.... Respect the under case though. If the run game is 3.5 a carry again, you win the bet.

The strongest OU Bear case is in your write-up: run game & road Mateer issues. So I'll layer something new: key wins were fools gold. Out-gained and positive TO diff in that run of at Tenn, at Bama, and vs Mizzou tipped the szn. Scraped by vs a LSU team that had quit to get 10 wins Could have been 8-4 team LY and TY narrative is completely different Absolutely see the logic in the Bull case (which co-host Bobby is on), but gun to head, give me the under. I'm bearish on the Sooners.
