Today, w/ @RepDonBacon I introduced bipartisan leg to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the members of our foreign service & military, held hostage for 444 days in Tehran in 1979. May we never forget their sacrifice & never-ending will to uphold the values that we hold dear.

This #Juneteenth, Commission52 honor & recognize the African American community & the seven African American men held hostage during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. Together we celebrate, learn & grow. Together we reflect on what we can do for a more peaceful & just tomorrow.
