No one said you took $ from Palantir. New Yorkers are furious that you gave Palantir hundreds of millions of their $, which you did. You're literally funding the company empowering ICE. Saying you don't fund ICE is like saying you didn't pull the trigger, you loaded the gun.

Let's talk the New York Comptroller race. The comptroller is responsible for managing the $250 billion state pension fund, auditing government spending, and more. I support Raj Goyle, an insurgent taking on longtime incumbent Tom DiNapoli. First, on Raj: I met him a decade ago through money and politics work, and have worked with him on Citizens-United related issues, and on Section 230 reform (the law that has been sometimes interpreted to give big tech blanket immunity. He founded and ran Phone Free New York, putting his full energy behind getting the bell-to-bell ban on smartphones in K-12 schools. He also served on the board of the State Innovation Exchange (SIX) a national network that connects progressive state legislators. In 2015 we both worked to try to get Ali Najmi elected to the City Council in Queens. He has been unambiguous about divesting from foreign bonds, and not funding Netanyahu's war crimes with New York money. He has committed to fully divesting from fossil fuels and redirecting those billions into clean energy, renewable infrastructure. And while I like and respect both Drew Warshaw and Adem Bunkeddeko, Goyle is far and away better positioned to win. This is not ranked choice, and we're talking about taking on an incumbent. I have genuine fondness for Tom DiNapoli. It may sound small, but back in 2014, when people were still genuinely afraid of Andrew Cuomo, Tom stood next to me at a parade under my sign. In 2014, very few people were doing that, scared of a call from Percoco. But I deeply disagree with how DiNapoli is currently using (and not using) the awesome power of the Comptroller's office. On not using: we need real oversight of the Public Service Commission and utilities hikes. On using: the pension fund's investment in Palantir and through it, entanglement with ICE, is a direct conflict with everything I believe about our obligations to each other as New Yorkers. Raj will get us out of funding Palantir, and make sure our investments reflect New York values.

New York should not be investing in Israel's war crimes. The New York state pension should divest from all foreign bonds, including Israel. As the next New York State Comptroller, that's exactly what I plan to do.

Tom DiNaploi has invested nearly half a billion dollars in Palantir. Despite powering Trump's deportation machine that has resulted in 33 detention facility deaths and the public deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, DiNapoli only cares if Palantir is profitable. The NYS pension fund shouldn't depend on the people's oppression.

A member of an offshoot of the Jewish Defense League — designated by the FBI as a "known violent extremist organization" — was allegedly building explosive devices to target the home of Nerdeen Kiswani in a chilling act of political violence. The defendant reportedly planned to flee to Israel following the attack. This comes amid an alarming rise in threats and violence across the country targeting Palestinian human rights advocates. I am thankful that the NYPD and FBI thwarted this plot, which could have endangered Nerdeen’s life and those of other New Yorkers. Let me be clear: We will not tolerate violent extremism in our city. No one should face violence for their political beliefs or their advocacy. I am relieved that Nerdeen is safe. Put simpler: a mysterious campaign is paying influencers $1500 to attack Illinois congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh. It's unclear who's funding the campaign. But turns out the guy coordinating it has done work for her primary opponent, which may raise some legal questions.
