Holds are applied to allow us time to verify the cheque and ensure your account’s security. The hold period can vary depending on the cheque amount, type, and other factors. For faster access to your funds, we recommend considering electronic deposit options, such as direct deposit or Interac e-Transfer. These methods typically allow you to access your funds immediately, without the need for a hold period. You can set up direct deposit with your employer or other payers, or use Interac e-Transfer for personal transfers. To access your void cheque, sign on to Online Banking and navigate to Account Details. From there, you'll see an option that says Get Void Cheque/Direct Deposit Info. Click the link, ensure the information is correct, and then select Print. To send money with Interac e-Transfer, sign in to CIBC Online Banking or the mobile app. Find “Interac e-Transfer” in the menu. Tap “Send Money”, pick your recipient, and enter the details. If you’d like more information about a specific deposit or want to know when the hold will be released, please contact our 24/7 Telephone Banking team at 1-800-465-2422. I wonder what happened to @cibc ? They keep withholding money from their customers. You try to deposit a cheque and somehow they make a stupid excuse to withhold funds from you. Im paying you to keep my money for safe keeping, AWAY FROM OTHER PEOPLE, not keep it away from myself

Compared to me, something similar happened to my friend, who is using RBC. However, it was handled in a very different way, with the process going smoothly and his transaction quickly reversed. I request @CIBC to look into the matters.

Reason why I am switching to @RBC: I am a student and recently got phished by a scammer. The scammer was able to get access to my @cibc credit and debit card due to which I lost $400. As a student, I can't afford this due to the bank's inability to protect my funds. #FRAUD

@cibc Why are you always short of tellers? Currently there is exactly ONE teller working,there's 9 ppl. This branch has cut hours, days and now locks the door and going to a machine has been taken away after 9pm. Why haven't banking fees went down,now that everything else has?

@CIBC you needed to update my business account information (I did not see a request) and in your arrogance you froze my account until I had to figure out why and then call and provide the info. While the account was frozen, deposits didn't go through and bills didn't get paid.
