One day, a politician will have the bollocks to say in public what they're quite happy to say when the microphone is off, and that is this. The Triple lock is unaffordable and must go. We all know it. And I say that as someone who in four years would benefit from it.

I rightly called out (twat) a man riding 1 of these - he mounted the pavement to avoid a red light at a crossing on @ClaphamCommon1 this AM thus colliding with me & other pedestrians- 2 kids in @eatonhousesch uniforms inside - he slapped me (assaulted). Entitlement personified!

Terrible fly tipping on @ClaphamCommon1 overnight again this morning. This area is covered by cameras as it’s a no entry for vehicles- but despite @lambeth_council spending £300k+ resurfacing the road they failed to put up bollards 🙄 let’s hope the cameras catch the bastards

You want the NATO allies to join you in a war you started without ever consulting these allies about the war or explaining your war aims. We’re meant just to meekly fall in line. You recently supported a US invasion of a NATO ally (Denmark/Greenland) but now you want these same allies to join your war. Your president disparaged and misrepresented the role of NATO allies in Afghanistan. But now you want them to join with you again in a war of your making. You went to war with Iran without a thought of how to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and without involving your allies in the matter. But now you want the NATO allies to bail you out, even though there’s still no plan for Hormuz. You want the NATO allies to join you in a war in which you still cannot articulate the endgame. Or what victory would look like. You went to war thinking the Iranian regime would quickly topple, that Tehran would not attack the Gulf States or close Hormuz. Why would we align with such Epic Stupidity? You and other know-nothing blowhards started this war all on your own. You can finish it on your own. If you’re able to …
Lindsey Graham@LindseyGrahamSC

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

I’m new to Stocks & Shares ISA market (invested in cash ISA & pensions for yrs). It was growing well but literally every gain I’ve made in 26 has been wiped out by the Iran/US war & now it’s in negative. My pension funds have also fallen. Thank goodness I don’t need either atm!

The hereditary were the last link to historical meaning of the chamber - and idea of a House of “Lords”. The last peers were also some of the most hard-working, public spirited and committed members - particular on non-urban issues. Their removal needs now to lead to a much more fundamental rethink of the composition of the House - appointments focused on merit and independence not political patronage.
James Heale@JAHeale

News: the Hereditary Peers Bill has tonight finally passed the Lords, ending centuries of tradition. Expect a handful of life peerages for a smattering of hereds.

This really is a disgraceful performance at PMQs by Starmer. He just referred to a live court case and had to be admonished by The Speaker. Badenoch, Davey and Flynn all asked questions which needed to be answered calmly and with contrition. All he did was bluster and insult.

Just seen another fare dodger at Clapham North barge through the barrier without paying - what did the @TfL employee do? Nothing of course - this is why they get away with it - unchallenged, uncaring employees @MayorofLondon I challenged him instead.
