something that nobody talks about,
is that when you come from nothing and embark on a journey to acquire it all,
you’ll begin to reach the level of success that you’ve always dreamt of.
but, there will be days when you begin to miss the struggle and the beginning of the journey.
the truth is that the end goal seemed glamorous merely because you never knew what it felt like.
everything novel seems desirable at a glance.
once you acquire it, you get bored of it quickly.
almost as if, you never truly wanted the success,
you wanted to know what it felt like to have it.
the danger of this phase is that, you can begin to deleteriously self sabotage.
not only do you plot ways to subconsciously send yourself back to zero,
but, you begin to take the wins for granted.
the only way i’ve found to circumvent this, is to have something greater than yourself.
a wife, kids, family, a team, investors, social pressure.
something.
it merely has to be so important to you that you are unwilling to jeopardise their lives for your selfish need to ‘rebuild’.
this is also why the advice of:
“do not care what other people think, do it for yourself”
is complete and utter dog sh*t.
you need to have something beyond yourself that drives you to not self destruct.
it’s similar to getting and staying fit.
at first, you become fit for the fitness itself.
once achieved, you begin self sabotaging.
the only way to stick to your fitness is by laterally optimising for fitness.
you are no longer fit for the sake of it, you’re now fit because you want to impress your girl or it keeps you mentally sane.
the path to consistency isn’t simple.
regurgitating “be consistent” is cute in theory.
although, consistency isn’t hard physically, it’s hard mentally.
the truth is that it can be attained so long as it’s externalised and for a cause beyond self.
“kids born into chaos will always seek chaos,
you can mask it but it’ll always find you.
some give it cute names such as adhd.”

@__oreille @dtcforbreakfast Might be able to help, done it a bunch of times
English

@annvhilator very applicable , many such examples.
“can take the man out of the X but cant take the X out of the man”
environment has always been surface level
English

@CJRevenue Makes me think of a study where cocaine(?) addicts were relocated from their environment
Clean as whistle in new environment
Returned to old environment, back to the same old ways
Underlying problem not fixed (same mindset/identity)

All new action comes from a change in mindset. this prompts action, common mistake is ppl thinking new actions will change mindset, no-
3 things that actually change mindset:
- being around winners
- experiencing success
- experiencing losing
3 things that dont & will waste your time:
- new routines
- changing your location
- new business model
these things help only when supplemented with a new mindset shift. then shit gets parabolic.

I wouldnt quit until youve had atleast 1 win in online biz, even if its just 1 $10 profit day.
you want clear focus and vision on the direction youre taking before quitting.
otherwise all your new free time will be absorbed by finding this & little meaningful action will be taken. I see this all the time w people in similar sitch
English

@CJRevenue Been trying but haven’t found success. W2 + NYC has been a drained on my time/focus
English

This will only help if you rewire biz dopamine as absolute number 1 priority first, before you leave.
otherwise you will simply find new parties/women etc after about 2weeks in your new boring city. And if you dont find them, well you’ll feel sad, lonely & be unproductive and just move back, repeating the same cycle over and over again.

@CJRevenue Does moving to a boring city knowing 0 people and having less partying help with re-establishing yourself?
English

Pretty sure men being pre-exposed to women or lifestyle (partying) before any kind of success is the single most detrimental reason why most never make it.
Its the only reason why i’d ever suggest working on biz when your young ~ 15 onwards, when outside temptations are pretty much nonexistent.
experiencing dopamine from online biz wins before real life/social is a lonely inversion, but important catylst to success.
otherway round and your fighting pandoras box trying to catch up & get into that same mental state again.

@juswritten v interesting,
do you believe this holds true for how family/spouse loves you too?
English

> Buys supercar (race car not designed for practicality nor holding your Starbucks coffee)
> Complains that supercar is not comfortable and can’t fit stuff in it
That’s like buying a Prius and saying it’s not fast. If you don’t actually enjoy driving, don’t buy a supercar
Alex Sedlak@alexxsedlak
NGL Lambo really not that great Insanely impractical Not one single cup holder Can’t fit jack shit in it Seats are uncomfortable after 15 minutes Only thing it’s good for is attention and driving fast
English

@CJRevenue I'm not at that level yet but I don't feel envy honestly
I get a weird mix of rage/anger/hope to push even harder
