Oh, that’s not just any tree 🌳 At the center of our FC Cleveland crest stands a 350+ year-old American sycamore in CVNP a designated Moses Cleaveland tree, nicknamed the Die Hard Tree. Photos by Chad Cochran 📸 It was already long standing when the city was founded in 1796; it’s been through our every era, every season of change. Decades ago, its top was blown off with dynamite because it threatened a nearby road. The blast left behind a heart-shaped hollow trunk. But the tree didn’t die. New shoots grew. Branches reached skyward. It keeps finding new ways to grow. That felt like Cleveland to us. That’s how the Die Hard Tree became the heart of our crest. Its design draws from the Tree of Life archetype, the branching lines of family trees and genealogies, and the gilded geometry of art deco that defines so much of Cleveland’s golden era architecture. A symbol of roots, resilience and renewal. From our Cleveland roots, we rise.

Five seasons in, and @MLSNEXTPRO continues to shape the future of the game. Today we kick off Year 5 with 30 clubs — and proudly welcome Connecticut United to the league. More than 230 MLS NEXT Pro players have earned first-team MLS contracts, with several now contributing to the U.S., Canadian and other national teams. And the innovation continues. This weekend, IFAB will vote on two rules pioneered in MLS NEXT Pro — the Off-Field Treatment Rule and Timed Substitution Rule — innovations that could be used at this summer’s World Cup. Proud of how this league is elevating competition, accelerating development, and helping modernize the game worldwide.
