Culture doesn't change when coach tells a player he's wrong. It changes when players tell other players: "no that's not how we do things here"

Anyone can coach for now. Real leaders coach for forever. The scoreboard fades—character doesn’t. Tough decisions today create real wins tomorrow.

Don’t be upset by the results you didn’t get...from the work you didn’t do. Champions do not become champions when they win the game, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it.

Culture doesn’t change when coaches call out players. It changes when players hold each other accountable and say, “That’s not how we do things here.”

This is the day that the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it.

The #1 thing I hope every player takes away from the World Baseball Classic: You play better & have more fun when you play for something bigger than yourself. Find a “why” bigger than you.

The biggest lie hitters believe: “Confidence comes from getting hits.” It doesn’t. If your confidence comes from results, you’ll live on a rollercoaster. Hit → confidence Out → panic The best hitters build confidence from preparation and process, not outcomes.

I don't know who needs to hear this but, you don't need any more motivation; you need discipline. Because discipline is what will get you to act despite your lack of motivation

If you want to play, then practice. If you want to win, then practice harder.
