Whole blood resuscitation is well studied in trauma. But what about non-trauma hemorrhage?
Researchers from @WakeForestMed examined 331 patients. The findings suggest whole blood can be safely used in severely hemorrhaging non-trauma patients.

In an international, randomized trial involving patients with acute venous thromboembolism, the risk of clinically relevant bleeding was significantly lower with apixaban than with rivaroxaban during the 3-month treatment period.
